Liverpool FC is hiring someone to manage daily chores for their superstars – including organising tenancy agreements and sorting council tax bills on their mansions. The Premier League giants have advertised the role of ‘player care officer’ on their website.

The dogsbody will take care of the club’s stars and “ensure that they have minimal distraction from practical issues”, according to the job description. It includes sorting rental agreements, cleaning services, setting up utilities, mobile phone bills and even sourcing driving lessons. The Reds’ job ad explains: “We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Player Care Officer.

“In this varied role, you will provide a comprehensive, first-class assistance to our Players to ensure that they have minimal distraction from practical issues. You will be part of a small team that delivers first class, proactive assistance to Players by providing services which will include, but are not limited to:

“Assisting Players in setting up their homes with their desired living arrangements and liaise with third parties such as, helping set up tenancy agreements, cleaning services, utilities, liaising with local authorities regarding council tax, TV, telephone/broadband suppliers and mobile phone providers, insurance companies, sourcing driving lessons and private chefs, setting up families with both private and NHS healthcare.

The executive will also organise “vehicle cleaning, vehicle deliveries and collections and connecting players with preferred suppliers” and sort out the “servicing and repair and taxing and insuring of vehicles”.

A salary is not disclosed in the advert but candidates are told: “This is a full-time permanent role working 5 in 7 and will be required to work some match days. Your main base will be our AXA Training Centre, located in Kirkby.

“To reward your hard work and commitment, we offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays) and a contributory pension scheme.” Similar roles at other clubs attract a pay packet of more than £30,000 a year.

Liverpool have enjoyed another strong start to this year’s Premier League season with the arrival of 16-year-old wonder-kid Rio Ngumoha.

The teen, who hails from Newham, East London, scored an 100th minute winner in his debut appearance for the club against Newcastle earlier this week. It comes after the Reds incredible title win last season was blighted by tragedy over the summer.

The players’ victory parade through the city ended in carnage when a car ploughed through crowds leaving more than 100 people injured. And then Liverpool endured even more heartbreak when Diego Jota died in a horrific car crash. The 28-year-old Portuguese national and his brother Andre were both killed in the wreck while holidaying in Spain in July.
