Liverpool are building up to a busy summer transfer window, with the Reds keen to get their business done early as Arne Slot prepares to defend their Premier League title
Fresh from winning the Premier League title, Liverpool look set to embark on a busy summer transfer window. Boss Arne Slot is keen to ensure his side put up a strong title defence next term.
That means new players will have to be signed, in contract to last summer’s incredibly quiet window. Jeremie Frimpong looks set to complete a move to Anfield, while a deal for Milos Kerkez is also progressing.
The latest name to be linked with a move to Anfield is Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz. The German was a key player as Leverkusen won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double last season as Invincibles.
The Reds have now singled him out as a player who can boost their attacking options. But Liverpool chiefs may also have one eye on the exit door and the list of departures is likely to be headed by Caoimhin Kelleher.
The goalkeeper has hinted that he is preparing to leave Anfield in search of more game-time. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Liverpool transfer news.

Wirtz bid submitted
Liverpool have submitted a club-record breaking bid for Florian Wirtz. The offer is understood to be worth more than £85million, which would exceed the fee the Reds paid for Darwin Nunez.
Negotiations are continuing, with Wirtz keen to make the move to Merseyside. Leverkusen’s managing director Simon Rolfes has confirmed that Liverpool have made an approach, though has refused to comment further.
“It’s currently an open subject with Florian,” the Leverkusen executive replied. “There is concrete interest from Liverpool, but there’s no more to say right now. Florian is our player.”
Konate offers contract update
Ibrahima Konate has insisted he wants to stay at Liverpool but admitted contract talks are not currently ‘progressing’. The Frenchman will see his current deal expire next summer and is keen to agree to new terms.
“I know I have a lot of objectives with this club: to become a leader, to win everything. I am very happy here to be fair,” he said. “This is another conversation with the club and my agent, we will see what will happen in the next few weeks or I don’t know when but we will see, let me say that.
“Progressing? Not really – but my agent met the club last week but I don’t know what will happen. I cannot say what my agent said to me but yeah, we will see what will happen.”
Kelleher prepares for exit
Caoimhin Kelleher has dropped a heavy hint that he is preparing to move on from Liverpool this summer. The goalkeeper has struggled for game-time behind Alisson, but believes he has what it takes to be a Premier League No.1.
“I think I’ve said it before as well that like, I feel like I’m a number one and I feel like I’m good enough to play week in, week out,” said Kelleher.
“That’s what I’m looking to do. Obviously this season I was lucky enough to play a lot of games… but yeah, definitely something I’m looking at.”
