Logan Carter, 12, tragically died after falling from a playground apparatus on Friday

A 12-year-old boy who tragically died after falling from a playground apparatus in a park has been pictured.

Logan Carter sadly passed away following a fall at Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford on Friday.

His grieving father Rob said on Facebook: “When I wake up on Friday my little mate I didn’t think that would be the last time I get to see you and my mate my heart has been ripped in two… I will never forget you my mate sleep tight up the and I see you one day at them gates mate love you so much.”

Later, he added: “All I can say to people is hold your kids and tell them every day how much you love them because you never know when they will be gone.”

Officers were notified at around 6:11pm on Friday by the North West Ambulance Service of an incident at a park in Winsford town, Cheshire police said.

Police found Logan, who had been seriously injured after falling from park apparatus at the scene near Ledward Street, according to the force. He was treated in the park by paramedics but died at the scene.

Logan’s family was being supported by specialist officers, police said on Saturday.

A GoFundMe page for funeral costs has already reaised just under £8,500, with an overal goal of £13,000. Police are appealing for anyone with information related to the incident to come forward as part of ongoing enquiries.

Detective Sergeant John Rhodes, of the protecting vulnerable people investigations unit, said: “This was a deeply tragic incident involving a very young victim and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the boy who sadly died at the scene.

“As part of our investigation into this incident, we are asking anyone who may have been in or around the Wharton Recreation Ground area just off Ledward Street in Winsford at around the time of the incident and saw anything that may aid us in our enquiries, to please get in touch.

Information can be provided to Cheshire Police through the force’s website or by calling 101, quoting IML-216564.
