Lola Young collapsed on stage at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City on Saturday, just one day after she canceled a concert due to a ‘sensitive matter’

Singer Lola Young had a shocking collapse on stage at the All Things Go Music Festival while performing her song Conceited, as witnessed by The Mirror at the NYC music festival.

Just before this distressing incident, she had briefly paused to speak with her keyboard player, resumed singing, and then suddenly fell to the floor causing the keyboard player to stop playing. The stage was quickly cleared and the audience began to disperse.

This unfortunate event occurred as she was making an emotional comeback after cancelling a previous concert due to mental health concerns.

On Friday, just hours before the 24 year old British pop sensation was due to perform at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert at Newark’s Prudential Center, her manager, Nick Shymansky, announced via her Instagram Story that she was unexpectedly pulling out of her performance , reports the Mirror US.

Shymansky informed fans that Young had to withdraw from the annual benefit concert supporting mental health awareness “due to a sensitive matter”. He then shared a note about her mental health, stating, “Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe.”

He concluded by saying, “She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”

Before collapsing on stage, Young told her fans, “I wanted to say I had a couple of tricky days. Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue,” but she decided to perform at the festival regardless.

Young catapulted to fame with her hit single ‘Messy’, from her 2024 album, ‘This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway’. She released her third studio album ‘I’m Only F——- Myself’ this month.

In a recent interview with CBS Mornings, aired less than a fortnight ago, the singer-songwriter confessed she’s the “happiest [she’s] ever been ever” after years of battling mental health issues that nearly derailed her career.

At the tender age of 17, she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, a condition that combines symptoms of schizophrenia and a mood disorder, such as depression, according to the Mayo Clinic.

“I went through a lot. I had a difficult, in some ways, a difficult upbringing,” she revealed to CBS. “I had this kind of urge, this like burning desire to escape in any way, shape or form I could.”

Music became her salvation and, with the support of Shymansky, who previously managed Amy Winehouse, she has achieved success while raising awareness about mental health.

However, despite her professional triumphs, Young has recently faced intense personal struggles. “I was in a really bad place. I didn’t want to be here. Didn’t care about myself. Didn’t care about anything,” she disclosed about a period of mental health challenges.

However, a significant change occurred just over a year ago, and she now claims to be incredibly happy. Despite sometimes struggling to finish songs, she finds being on stage performing the most exhilarating part of her job.
