Broadcaster Kaye Adams is best known for presenting her BBC Radio Scotland show – however, she has reportedly been taken off air following an internal complaint
Kaye Adams has reportedly been taken off air from her BBC radio show following an internal complaint. The 62-year-old has allegedly been told to step back from her Mornings With Kaye Adams job while BBC bosses look into the complaint.
The broadcaster has hosted her three-hour phone in show on BBC Radio Scotland, which she gets paid £155,000 for, since 2010. However, Kaye has not been heard on the airwaves since October 6.
BBC Scotland have refused to comment on the allegation but said that Adams has not left the organisation permanently. The BBC said it has “robust internal processes” to handing concerns like these.

The BBC said: “We would not comment on individuals. If any complaints or concerns are raised, we have robust internal processes in place to manage these.” The Mirror has reached out to representatives for Kaye Adams.
It is believed the complaint was raised under the BBC’s Call It Out scheme to address poor behaviour in the workplace which is an initiative set up in the aftermath of the scandal over former MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace.
Adams has also been a long-standing presenter of ITV’s daytime show Loose Women which she hosted last Friday. She also works for the BBC as a freelance presenter as well as hosting her show on BBC Radio Scotland show.
She now presents the 9am to midday slot several days a week. A representative for Adams denied the allegations, and told The Sun: “No complaints have been presented to Miss Adams by the BBC.
“Further, she has worked for BBC Radio Scotland for more than 15 years and in that time has never had any issue raised about her.”
Kaye has been replaced on air by Connie McLaughlin while investigations are ongoing. This comes as Kaye recently opened up about her recent health scare after attending a Pilates class that left her “really scared” she was having a stroke.
Kaye explained that at a reformer Pilates class she went to over the weekend, she was hit by a wave of dizziness and lost her balance.
Opening up about the experience on the How to be 60 podcast, she shared that the “horrible” physical feelings made her fear the worst was happening. “Do you know what I’ve had recently, it’s the funniest thing,” she started. “I went to my Pilates last Sunday, the reformer Pilates, I call it disco Pilates, because it’s all bright lights and music.
“I got off the reformer and my goodness the world began to spin. Like a Tom and Jerry cartoon when there’s birds going around the head. I thought, ‘Oh my God I’m having a stroke’.”
She added: “I was really scared actually, it was horrible. I just couldn’t get my balance.” Kaye continued to admit that what was actually happening was “really weird”. She concluded: “I’ve checked it out and apparently it’s vertigo. Apparently it’s crystals in your ear that get dislodged and you can be prone to it. It’s a really weird thing.”
