Loose Women’s Frankie Bridge squandered fortune leaving her ‘penniless’

By staff5 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Frankie Bridge opened up about her financial past, admitting she didn’t save any of the money she earned from her pop career – and says she’s now got nothing left

Frankie Bridge opened up about squandering all her earnings from her pop stardom days and confessed: “I don’t have anything to show for it anymore, I think that’s one of my biggest regrets.”

The vocalist-turned-Loose Women panellist, who rose to prominence with S Club Juniors at just 12 before achieving chart triumph with The Saturdays, spoke frankly about her monetary history. She revealed to the Big Fish podcast with Spencer Matthews that despite grafting from such a tender age, she failed to put money aside and now has nothing remaining from her pop celebrity fortune.

Frankie detailed how her parents’ relaxed stance on expenditure due to her dedication meant there was minimal oversight of her finances. “I think my parents always felt that they allowed me to work from such a young age that they were unable to tell me what to use my money for and what to spend it on. We didn’t have loads and loads.”

Looking back on her previous command over her cash flow, the presenter disclosed: “Yeah of course, I was in control of it to a certain extent. I remember I had my own bank card. I think I only just closed it down like last week.”

Despite widespread assumptions about young celebrities not receiving their rightful portion, Frankie verified she did indeed possess her own earnings, complete with personal banking privileges. Frankie candidly discussed her financial innocence after her stint with S Club Juniors, admitting: “They helped me to invest little bits. But at the time I had no mortgage, no bills, no nothing, I wasn’t really thinking about it. But when I look back it wasn’t as much money as I thought it was. It would have been nice to has some of it left.”

Following S Club Juniors, Frankie was primed for a solo career, with music tycoon Simon Fuller envisioning her as the next Rachel Stevens. She reminisced about that period: “I had an opportunity afterwards. I was signed on my own for about a year as a solo artist and he wanted me to be the new Rachel Stevens, because she was the thing at the time.”

However, Frankie felt overwhelmed in the solo spotlight: “I felt so lost, I didn’t know what clothes I was into, what music. I was more an Avril Lavigne, a bit more emo. And that was not the style he was going for.” Frankie has since admitted she struggles with depression and anxiety.

Everything clicked into place when Frankie received the call to join The Saturdays, despite her initial hesitation to be part of “another girl band.”

After mulling it over, she seized the opportunity and has since enjoyed a series of hits with the group, which includes Rochelle Humes, Una Healy, Mollie King, and Vanessa White. Now, Frankie is a doting mum to her son Parker, shared with football ace Wayne Bridge, and a stepmum to his son Jaydon.
