George Fensom, branded by The Tab as “Love Island 2023’s most controversial contestant”, admitted he risks “sounding arrogant” with the admission about the type of women he says he attracts

Former Love Island star George Fensom says he is a “mum magnet” – and gets hundreds of messages on Instagram from older women.

The business development executive, who was on the ITV show in 2023, said he has been bombarded with the attention before he appeared on the hit programme.

But George, 26, claims since he shot to fame, he has received more and more messages – and attention in bars and clubs – from women aged roughly between 35 and 50, including mothers. George, from Bedford, even says mums and aunties of women he has dated have fawned over him both in person and online over the years.

“The majority of the time it’s the mums in the 35 to 50 age range saying ‘you’re so handsome, if I was 10 years younger.’ I constantly get women coming up to me on night’s out saying ‘I love your hair’ or ‘I like your eyes,'” George, who was coupled with Jess Harding but dumped on day five, said today.

The business exec continued: “I don’t want to sound arrogant and say I’m a good looking guy but what I think makes so many women fancy me is the fact that they assume that good looking guys are going to be immature.

“Whereas when they meet me they realise I’m a nice guy too. They look at me and think I’m good looking and actually well spoken. Even when I’ve got a girlfriend it doesn’t stop these women. They’re worse than guys.”

George’s comments come after a survey by affairs website Illicit Encounters found mums in their 40s are Britain’s biggest cheaters. It surveyed its members and found that despite the stereotype of men playing away, an astonishing 63% of women in that age range admitted having an affair.

Responding to this, the Love Island contestant added: “If I’m on a night out and I’m with someone, they don’t care. The majority of them are in a relationship too. I get it online as well as in person. I’ve had hundreds of DMs from women on Instagram.

“It’s just as bad in person. A lot of people see me in the flesh and say I’m a lot better looking in person than in pictures. They’ll start fancying me from there. It just happens, I can’t help it.”

The research found 59% of blokes in their 20s have had an affair, as have 53% of men in their 50s. Some 42& of the women in their 60s confessed to playing away in the poll.

Jessica Leoni, the website’s resident sexpert, said: “Who’d have thought that horny mums would be Britain’s biggest cheats They’re normally painted as the steadfast, loyal matriarchs doting over their husbands and kids.

“The reality may be rather different if our survey is anything to go by. It seems they’re even more up for playing away than blokes in their 20s. That certainly takes some doing in my book.”
