Luke Littler fires back at fan’s Beau Greaves slur after darts upset with three-word response

Luke Littler suffered a surprise defeat against Beau Greaves in the Winmau World Youth Championship semi-final and shut down a troll making sexist remarks

Luke Littler quickly shut down a troll who made a sexist remark towards Beau Greaves following her win over the reigning darts World Champion. The 21-year-old booked her place in next month’s Winmau World Youth Championship final, defeating Littler in a dramatic last-leg decider to set up a clash with defending champion Gian van Veen.

Littler made the trip to Wigan for Monday’s qualifiers less than 24 hours after thrashing world number one Luke Humphries to win his first World Grand Prix title. The win in Leicester clinched his seventh major title in the PDC and his fourth of 2025.

However, his luck ran out in the World Youth Championship semi-final, where women’s world No. 1 Greaves reigned supreme.

Littler survived match darts earlier in the competition against Charlie Manby, coming from 5-3 down to win 6-5. However, Greaves defeated the teenage sensation 6-5 with an average of 105 to Littler’s average of 107.

Taking to social media after the defeat, Littler said: “I had two 10-dart legs, missed double 12 for a nine and still couldn’t win. Fair play to Beau. All the best in Minehead. Some talent.”

He would also shut down a sexist remark from one commenter, who said: “We don’t need this. Women should not compete with men, no matter how good they are.”

Littler wasted no time in putting the troll in their place, brutally responding: “Are you high?”

Greaves will now take on Gian van Veen in the final on Sunday, November 23, the very same day that the Players Championship Finals in Minehead are scheduled.

Littler will be in action looking for his first Players Championship win, with Humphries triumphing in the past two instalments of the competition to take home the £120,000 top prize.

The winner of the World Youth Championship will take home £12,000. Players between the ages of 16 and 23 can enter.

This leaves the door open for Littler to enter again in the years to come, although his focus is on closing the gap to his rival Humphries.

“This is my time and I’ve just got to keep going,” said Littler at at a press conference following his Grand Prix triump.

“Obviously, until I get that world number one spot, I will never call myself the best in the world.

“Whoever’s number one, they’re the best. But knowing I’m only £70,000 in prize money behind Luke, and then he’s got to defend all of his prize money from the Grand Prix, the Players Championships and the World Championship.

“I don’t want to think about it too much, but I could be world number one before that World Championship.”

He is set to feature in the Players Championship events in Wigan on Tuesday and Wednesday.
