If you’re still undecided, this year might just sway you, thanks to a viral TikTok recipe that’s being hailed as ‘the best you’ll ever try’.

She’s confident even the biggest sprout haters will be converted, saying: “These are possibly the best sprouts you will ever try. And they’re all made in the air fryer, not one other step. You just throw it all in, it’s very simple.
“It’s that easy, you can actually make it on the day, and sprouts are the best.”
The comments section was soon filled with enthusiastic fans, with one exclaiming: “Love love looooooove sprouts! This looks great. Can’t wait to try this.”
Another commented: “These are my favourite and the only way I’ll ever cook sprouts!”
Here’s everything you need to make the air fryer sprouts at home.
Air fryer Brussels sprouts
Ingredients
- 50g butter, melted
- 500g frozen Brussels sprouts (if fresh, cut in half)
- 100g bacon lardons
- 50g pre-cooked chestnuts, chopped
- Sea-salt flakes and ground black pepper
Method
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C/350°F.
If you’re using fresh sprouts, slice them in half. Toss the sprouts with butter in a large bowl, season with sea salt and pepper, then pop them into the air fryer basket.
Poppy suggests adding bacon lardons to the mix and cooking for five minutes. Then, add chopped chestnuts, give it a shake and cook again for about five to 10 minutes, depending on your preference for crispiness.
The sprouts are then ready to be served immediately with your festive feast. According to Poppy, the chestnuts add a delightful ‘Christmassy sweetness’ to the sprouts, while the crispy bacon enhances the vegetable with a tasty crunch.
