Man set to inherit millions after detective’s discovery on street

By staff8 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

A man was abandoned by his father before he was born and was not recognised as his son – but he is set to inherit millions thanks to a detective’s discovery on a street

A man who was abandoned by his dad before he was even born is now set to cash in on a millionaire inheritance following a remarkable discovery on a street.

After a thorough investigation involving the meticulous efforts of private detectives, the 35-year-old man’s entitlement to the his dad’s fortune was finally verified through his grandfather’s saliva. Tragically, the unnamed man’s father never acknowledged him as his son and passed away aged 65 in 2011.

His parent, who typically resided in Mexico, had a brief romance with his mother after they met during her holiday to Spain. However, once she fell pregnant, his father allegedly severed all contact with her and returned to Mexico.

According to the man’s solicitor, Fernando Osuna, she “never heard from him again”. He revealed that she subsequently chose to become a single mother after being rejected by her partner’s family.

He also stated her decision was influenced by the family’s suggestion that they would take the lad to Mexico if DNA testing confirmed he was their biological son.

Years later, when the boy had grown up, he decided to employ Fernando to assist not only with his inheritance claim but also to secure his surname. He enlisted a private detective agency to aid his quest, which led them to the person thought to be his paternal grandfather.

The relative’s spit was remarkably obtained by a detective when he spat on the street, according to Le Soir. Detective Juan Pantín Bouza, who gathered the sample and works as a manager at Detectives InfoX, revealed to Confilegal: “I established a series of controls to try to obtain organic evidence. It took several days of surveillance until I found the right moment.”

He further explained: “One of these days, the man (the client’s grandfather) started coughing, and some phlegm fell on the street. I began the protocol, using gloves, swabs, etc., to collect it. I labelled the evidence, sealed it, and sent it to a testing centre, which issued the report.”

After packaging the sample, it was dispatched to a lab for DNA analysis, which confirmed a connection. A judge then called the grandfather to repeat the DNA test in court, but he declined.

In the climax of the ensuing legal tussle, the judge, guided by a decision from the Spanish Supreme Court, declared that the man was the rightful heir and ordered the grandfather to cover the legal fees. Speaking to Confilegal, Fernando highlighted in this extraordinary case, there had been “quite a bit” of evidence.

He pointed out the blend of witnesses, a “plausible” tale and finally, a “physical resemblance” between the man and his father.
