Richard Stacey, 37, is due to appear at Walsall Magistrates’ Court tomorrow where he faces charges of attempted child abduction, assault, and affray after an incident in Wolverhampton
Police have charged a man after the attempted abduction of a three-year-old girl this week.
The youngster was in Leicester Street, Wolverhampton on Thursday when the alleged incident took place. Richard Stacey has been charged with attempted child abduction, assault, and affray.
The 37-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates’ Court on Monday. West Midlands Police confirmed the child was not injured and it was continuing to offer support to her and her family.
Detective Inspector Nicola Pestel, at Wolverhampton CID, said: “We’ve had officers from across our local teams working hard on this investigation.
“We’ve been following a number of lines of enquiry and this arrest is a significant step forward. We fully understand the concerns this will have caused but we do believe it is an isolated incident.”
