Man Utd give Napoli green light with new Rasmus Hojlund transfer demand

By staff27 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Rasmus Hojlund has rediscovered his form since joining Napoli on loan from Manchester United in the summer, after two difficult seasons at Old Trafford

10:25, 27 Oct 2025Updated 10:25, 27 Oct 2025

Manchester United have given Napoli the green light to sign Rasmus Hojlund on a permanent deal in January. Napoli signed the United flop on a season-long loan in the summer.

But the Italian champions have been so impressed with the striker, they are keen to take up the option and are in talks with United to bring forward the £38m deal. And with United keen to off-load the Danish forward as soon as possible, the English giants will look to conclude negotiations with Napoli in the coming weeks.

Napoli want to exercise their obligation to buy Hojlund, and talks are believed to be at an advanced stage. Hojlund became a laughing stock at Old Trafford after nothing up a dismal scoring record.

Despite costing United £72m from Atalanta, he managed just 14 goals in 62 league appearances.

United bosses were so disappointed with Hojlund, they decided to shell out another £66.3m on Benjamin Sesko this summer. But Hojlund has notched four goals in six appearances for Napoli, to leave boss Antonio Conte impressed.

Hojlund has missed Napoli’s last three games due to being injured. But he is said to be loving life on the Amalfi coast, and has no intention of ever returning to United.

Getting a deal done sooner rather than later will be music to the ears of the Old Trafford hierarchy, particularly after last season’s Jadon Sancho debacle.
