Man Utd learn Benjamin Sesko transfer reality as Ruben Amorim decision vindicated

By staff8 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Benjamin Sesko has scored in each of his last two Premier League appearances for Manchester United, with the Slovenian international starting to find his feet at Old Trafford

Manchester United splashed the cash this summer, particularly in the forward areas, in a bid to revamp Ruben Amorim’s attack, with Benjamin Sesko being the marquee signing. The 22-year-old sensation made his way to Old Trafford from RB Leipzig for an initial fee of £66.3m.

That transfer fee could rise to £74million if add-ons are met, with United beating off competition from Newcastle United for his signature earlier this summer.

Despite a slow start at United, Amorim is beginning to see the potential Sesko brings to the squad as we head into the international break, with the forward netting a goal in each of his last two Premier League matches.

He found the back of the net in the 3-1 loss to Brentford but also scored the second goal in United’s 2-0 victory over Sunderland last weekend.

United have had difficulty finding the back of the net in recent seasons, with Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford all struggling to score consistently.

Two of these three players departed the club this summer, leaving Sesko with the responsibility of being the main goal scorer.

As of October 6th, CIES Football Observatory values the Slovenian international between €109m-€119m (£94.6m-£103.33m).

The striker is now the club’s most valuable player, having arrived from RB Leipzig, with that ‘fair price’ considerably higher than what the club paid for him earlier this summer.

If you rewind to June 19th, earlier this year, a ‘fair price’ for the forward was considered to be in the region of €90m-€117m (£78.1m-£101.9m).

Despite Ineos and United paying a lower price for him, both ‘fair price’ valuations are significantly higher, with the increase in that lower bracket of £78.1m to £94.6m suggesting his value will only rise if he keeps scoring goals.

Ahead of the break, Sesko hinted at more impressive performances in the future. “No, not yet,” he told MUTV when asked if we were beginning to see his best form at United.

“There is loads [still] to come, definitely. I’m still getting used to it more and more, to read the players, to connect with them even more. I believe I can be even better and I will try to show it.”
