Say farewell to those irritating specks of sand that always seem to get stuck to your feet no matter how hard you try to wipe them off – a man has shared a ‘genius’ hack and with some planning, it can be completely free
Having sandy feet after the beach can put a real dampener on your day out.
Picture this: you’ve had a glorious day in the sun, reading a book on your lounger, going for dips in the sea, building sand castles with your little ones. But now it’s time go home, and your feet are covered in sand that has somehow ingrained itself into your skin and refuses to budge no matter how hard you try to towel it off.
You can’t run to the sea to wash every single irritating grain off (unless your partner is then willing to carry you to the car) which means you’re left with no choice but to put on your socks and pretend the sensation of scratchy sand isn’t driving you crazy.
Luckily, one man named Spencer went viral after sharing his top beach hack on TikTok, amassing a whopping 4.6 million views already. The holidaymaker demonstrated how he fills a plastic carrier bag up with water and digs it into the sand – to create a kind of personalised foot spa.
“Let’s just put some little sandy feet in there,” he said, as his partner dips her feet into the water. “Then the magic happens. All the water gets all the sand off.”

Impressed viewers rushed to the comments section to hail the little-known tip, with one person saying it left them ‘mind blown’. “Pretty good idea to be fair,” raved another – while a third wrote: “I am actually lost for words. Why have I never thought of this?”
Others were quick to recommend using talcum powder to dust off sand from your tootsies – arguing it is the ‘best’ hack they have tried and leaves your skin smelling fresh. You can pick up talc, aka baby powder, from your nearest supermarket or beauty store for a couple of quid, including Sainsbury’s, where a 400g tub will only set you back £1.50.
