Mark Wright talks about expecting his first child with wife Michelle Keegan
Mark Wright has opened up about how he feels about becoming a father for the first time.
In an interview on Friday night’s The One Show, the former TOWIE star spoke about his new BBC DIY show was Tommy Walsh, Clean It, Fix, It. During the interview, he was congratulated by hosts Lauren Laverne and Roman Kemp. “We’ve got to say congratulations, because since we last saw you, you and your wife Michelle [Keegan] have announced you’re expecting a baby,” Lauren said. “Your first child together, so it’s all go on the home front.”
“Thank you very much,” Mark responded. “Very exciting times ahead. Little bit nerve wracking but I’m ready, I’m excited.” Asked if he was going to decorate the nursery, Mark laughed: “I’ll let you guys do it.”
Former Coronation Street actress, Michelle Keegan, 37, tied the knot with Mark Wright, also 37, in a lavish ceremony back in May 2015. Now, ten years on, they are now starting a family together as both their careers continue to soar.
The couple made the announcement a few days after Christmas as they took to Instagram to share the news. In a joint post, they wrote: “2025 is going to be a special one for us… [baby emoji. love heart emoji].” In the photo on a picturesque beach, Michelle could be seen holding her baby bump as Mark lovingly looked on.
Recently, the couple were forced to lock themselves in their bedroom when their Essex mansion was targeted by masked raiders. They were said to have heard their porch window smash before their alarm system went off at their lavish pad earlier this month.
Authorities were then alerted via the couple’s security system, although they were said to be “very shaken up” by the incident.
At the time, an Essex Police spokesperson said: “It was reported four suspects had forced entry to an address, carrying out a search of the property before fleeing. Within eight minutes, our officers were on the scene. We are continuing to support and safeguard the victims and are conducting high-visibility patrols in the area.
“We are exploring a number of lines of inquiry including but not limited to forensic opportunities, CCTV and witness statements. Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible.”
