Marks & Spencer urgently recalls chocolate snack over potentially fatal risk

By staff16 October 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

The Marks & Spencer chocolate snack has been recalled over an allergy risk – people who have bought the affected batch of Milk Chocolate Honeycomb have been asked to return it in store

Marks & Spencer has issued an urgent recall for packs of Milk Chocolate Honeycomb because of a potentially serious allergy risk.

The High Street chain said the product was being recalled “in the abundance of caution” due to the “possible presence of undeclared peanuts” in a small number of packs. A spokesperson added: “Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously.”

Batches affected by the recall have a best before date of May 12, 2026 with the lot number 5242. People with peanut allergies who have bought this batch of the product have been asked not to eat it, and to return it to their nearest Marks & Spencer for a full refund.

Only these date codes are covered by the alert, and no other M&S products are affected.

An alert issued from the Food Standards Agency said: “Marks & Spencer is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

“The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.”

“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat it. Instead return it to your nearest store for a full refund. For more information, please contact Marks & Spencer on 03330 148555.”
