A Married At First Sight Australia star has paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend after he was shot dead in a car park in Melbourne
Married At First Sight Australia star Jessika Power paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend after he was fatally shot in a car park in Melbourne.
The former MAFS contestant previously dated Sam Abdulrahim in 2019 and said it was ‘hard to hear’ about his shock death. Sam was reportedly an underworld figure and a boxer known as ‘The Punisher’. She explained she broke things off with him due to his ‘connections to the underworld.’
However, the former couple ended on ‘really good terms’ as she praised him as a person. “It’s been really, really hard to hear,” the reality star said of his death. “We ended on really good terms. He’s always been supportive to me if I needed him, even up until a few months ago.
“I just feel so sad for his wife and his child – she’s going to grow up without a dad and it’s such a toxic world to be in that underworld thing.” She went on to say Sam was ‘dedicated’ to his friends and family, adding that he was also ‘protective’ over her when they were briefly together.
“He’s a dad, he’s a husband, he’s someone’s son and he’s just a really good guy,” she told Daily Mail Australia. She said her brother Rhyce was ‘also devastated’ by the news as they were good friends. Jessika and Sam met through mutual friends and revealed their relationship on Instagram in May of 2019, with the star posting a photo of the two while she was getting a face scrub.
They began dating soon after he was released from prison after serving a custodial sentence over a high-speed crash that resulted in the death of an 88-year-old woman in 2015. Jessika and Sam’s relationship didn’t last as his alleged connection to ‘the underworld’ “was part of the reason why I ended up leaving because I just didn’t want to be around that.”
The reality star found fame in 2019 when she appeared on the Aussie version of the hit dating show where she married plasterer and farmer Mick Gould. Jessika’s romantic life has drawn considerable attention since she found fame on MAFS Australia. Although she had been paired with Mick for the experiment, she ditched him to start a romance with fellow co-star Dan Webb.
While the partner swapping shocked audiences, their relationship ultimately ended dramatically when Dan broke up with her on live TV during the Talking Married reunion show. She was recently connected to British DJ Brent before she moved on with her new man, Ryan.
