Mary Berry’s sticky honey garlic chicken:
Ingredients:
- Six chicken legs
- Six tablespoons of tomato ketchup
- Six tablespoons of tomato puree
- Two tablespoons of grainy mustard
- Three tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- Two tablespoons of runny honey
- One garlic clove, crushed.
Method:
Kick things off by scoring the chicken legs with a sharp knife and placing them in a shallow baking dish.
Then whisk together the marinade ingredients (ketchup, tomato puree, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and garlic) in a bowl until well mixed.
Slather the chicken with the marinade, giving it a good toss to ensure each leg is thoroughly coated. If time allows, let it marinate in the fridge for at least half an hour.
When you’re ready to cook, crank your oven up to 220C (or 200C for fan ovens) and line a roasting tin with parchment paper.
Lay out the chicken legs in a single layer to guarantee even cooking, drizzle with any remaining marinade, and roast for 35 to 40 minutes until they turn a luscious sticky golden brown and are cooked through.
Serve piping hot on their own, paired with potatoes, rice or a scrumptious salad.
This dinner is speedy, straightforward and delectable, making it an ideal choice for midweek meals.
