Music fans reckon they have figured out who The Bear from The Masked Singer is, and believe the show’s disguised star is billed to headline Latitude Festival this summer
Music lovers reckon they to have worked out a Masked Singer performer is one of Latitude Festival’s headliners.
Fans of the show were left wondering if the Suffolk-based festival had managed to bag The Bear from the hit television programme, where a panel of judges try and work out who is singing underneath a costume. This year’s Latitude Festival will feature the likes of Sting, Snow Patrol and Kaiser Chiefs along with “very special guests” Basement Jaxx and Elbow.
Fans are now turning their attention to the headliners of this year’s festival, which were announced earlier today (Thursday, January 30), in a bid to work out who the mystery vocalist is. Taking to X, one user wrote: “This Bear in Masked Singer is 99.9% Example.”
Another wrote: “If the Bear in Masked Singer isn’t Example I’ll be f**king shocked.” A third added: “Bear on The Masked Singer UK is Example 100%.”
Fans of the show appear adamant on Example being the man behind the mask, though this has not yet been confirmed by the show. Example will feature in the Latitude Festival line-up alongside Lambrini Girls, Hamish Hawk, and Public Service Broadcasting.
Music-lovers are split on the line-up, with one writing: “Latitude seems to be getting progressively worse year by year. Shame.” Another suggested it was a “poor” collection of talents, while others were more positive about the line-up for this year’s festival.
One user wrote: “Not sure why comments are so negative, There are many bands in the line up that I very much like and have never seen live, The family and I will be there so long as we can get kennels booked for the dogs.”
Singer-songwriter John Hamilton also replied and asked to be added to the line-up. He joked: “Get us on the line-up guys and the weekend is sorted.”
Another wrote: “Some cracking acts on here – love the moaners comments! Easy – scroll on & go somewhere else! Put your favourite line-up together, contact all of them & I bet half are otherwise engaged. Plus you’ve got 60k people to please so your line-up will probably suck for 50% of them.”
Others were not so pleased with the festival headliners, and recalled previous Latitude Festival line-ups. One user wrote: “Mad that this fest was booking Phoebe Bridgers and Little Simz only three years ago.” Another wrote: “Snow Patrol headlining yet another UK festival. Who books this s**te man.”
A third suggested the show was a drop in quality since the 2010 line-up, screenshotting the poster from that year’s festival, which featured Florence and the Machine, Belle and Sebastian, and Vampire Weekend as the headliners.
