The Wanted star Max George was taken to hospital by his mum on Wednesday after experiencing heart issues, and admitted to fans that he’d had a ‘rough day’ after accepting that he might be under doctors’ care over Christmas

Singer Max George, 36, has given more details about his medical situation in a video from his hospital bed.
The Wanted star shared two clips on his Instagram Stories late on Friday afternoon, sharing how he was doing after going to hospital on Thursday with suspected heart issues. Max filmed himself as he lay in bed, wearing a hospital gown and fitted with a tube over his right pectoral.
“Hey, everyone, hope you’re good. A little update. So, had a bit of a rough day today. My heart rate dropped a bit this morning, which was – yeah, it was a little bit scary. But everyone here is amazing, so I managed to get it back up a little bit and get stable again which is great,” he said to his fans.
The singer explained: “The reason I’m not – a lot of family and friends are asking why I’m not just going in and having, you know, anything done yet – because there’s so many tests that need to be done before we do anything. So I just need to get through until – I guess – next week, get all the tests done, and then they’ll know exactly what to do. Because otherwise, obviously they’ll be able to do something but it’ll be better doing it with all the information they need.”
Max openly admitted: “But yeah, it’s sh**e, but still here and staying positive. And thanks everyone for all the lovely messages. Any friends and family and that who’ve messaged I haven’t got back to, I see you all and it means a lot. Much love and have a nice Friday night.”
The musician recently revealed that he may have to spend Christmas in hospital this year, with doctors seemingly confirming that there could be an issue with his heart. Max’s mum, Barbara, also shared some details about the terrifying situation. She said: “Max is in the hospital right now and he’s being very well taken care of. I took him to A&E this week where he was looked at.”
“He is in the best place he can possibly be right now. He’s very grateful for all the well-wishes from his fans and he’s got all his friends and family around him too. They have done some tests to see what the best management will be going forward,” she divulged of his current status.
When Max first revealed his health scare on Thursday, he described: “Yesterday I felt really unwell and was taken into hospital. Unfortunately after some tests they’ve found that I have some issues with my heart. I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet. It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks / months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned! But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support by my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends.. and I’m 100% in the best place.”
