Maxx Justice dead: Former WWE star killed after being knocked off bike by vehicle

Mike Raybeck, who wrestled under the aliases Maxx Justice and Mike Diamond during a career with various wrestling promotions, has died after being knocked off his bike

Maxx Justice, a wrestler who competed in WWE among other promotions, has died at the age of 63. The star, real name Mike Raybeck, died after being knocked off his bike.

The wrestler, who was also known as Mike Diamond, was active in the 1990s and early 2000s. Most of his career was spent with All Pro Wrestling, but he also competed in WWE when it was still under its previous name the World Wrestling Federation.

“All Pro Wrestling is saddened to learn about the passing of APW Original, Mike Raybeck professionally known as Maxx Justice and Mike Diamond,” the promotion wrote in an Instagram post. “A 5x APW Universal Champion, Mike was a graduate of the All Pro Wrestling Boot Camp. At 6’5 and north of 250lbs he was a stand out on the California independent scene.

“Adopting the moniker Maxx Justice, he formed the original incarnation of the Border Patrol tag team with fellow APW alumni, Michael Modest. Justice would go on to wrestle internationally in both Mexico and Japan as well as receiving tryouts in WWF (WWE) and WCW. Not to mention a having one of the more memorable moments in the Beyond The Mat documentary.

“Mike would go on to work for the city of Hayward as a maintenance mechanic. His life was cut short following a bicycle accident where he was struck by a vehicle near Chabot College last Friday. Our most sincere condolences go out to the family, friends and fans of Maxx Justice! Rest in Power, thank you for your contributions and for helping pave the way.”

Fellow wrestler Tony Fury was among those to pay tribute. “Just found out that an OG #APW brother has passed away,” he wrote.

“Michael Raybeck wrestled as Mike Diamond and later as Maxx Justice. He & @MICHAELMODEST wrestled as the Border Patrol. I was fortunate to have trained with him in the early days of APW. Rest easy.”

Fury shared a post from the Hayward City Council in California, where Raybeck is understood to have been working at the time of his death. “The Hayward City Council convened on May 13, 2025, to address various community matters, beginning with a somber announcement regarding the tragic passing of longtime city employee Mike Raybeck,” the countil said.

“The council observed a moment of silence and lowered flags at city properties to honor Raybeck, who was a utilities maintenance mechanic in the public works department. Raybeck, who had been with the city since March 16, 2009, lost his life in a bicycle accident near Chabot College on Friday. He was struck by a vehicle while riding home from work, where he had gone to pick up medications.

“The council expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting Raybeck’s dedication to his work and the community. His supervisor, Dan Megalis, shared fond memories of Raybeck, noting his enthusiasm for technology and his passion for hobbies, including remote-controlled vehicles and professional wrestling, where he performed under the persona ‘Maxx Justice.
