Former TOWIE star Megan McKenna had to rush her five-month-old baby son Landon to the doctors after the youngster ‘cried all night in pai’
Megan McKenna had to rush her baby son to the doctors on Thursday after the tot was crying all night in pair.
The former TOWIE star revealed she was exhausted after the youngster’s health scare. Megan, 32, shares baby Landon with her footballer fiance Oliver Burke. The reality TV star took to social media following the incident. Posting an image of them together on Instagram, Megan wrote: “I need sleep. Oh no. So we had a few happy hours this afternoon self (after the doctor helped clear his tummy out).
“But then as soon as he’s ready for bed he’s crying so bad again holding his head. The teething journey begins… also he’s not wanted to be put down all day bless him.”
She added: “Normally my singing soothes him but he just can’t settle. Oli has him right now so I can have a quick bath as I have a feeling it could be a long night again. On a positive note he loved the watermelon and although he’s had a rough 24 hours with his tummy and teeth he was smiling and laughing when he was in the bath! He loves bath time!!!”
She took to social media again to tell her followers in an update: “Landon was up all night last night crying and holding his ear. The doctor said it wasn’t red but he’s also been blocked up in his tummy bless him.
‘The doctor sorted him out, this evening he’s been a bit happier! But… he’s defo struggling with his teeth. Any other tips for teething?’
Earlier in the month Megan revealed another time she had to rush the tot to hospital. She recounted the heart-stopping moment she rushed her baby son to hospital after he had been left screaming and throwing up.
She told her Instagram followers that her son had been left in distress and dehydrated after he experienced vomiting and after he became inconsolable. She explained that she trusted her instincts that something could have been seriously wrong and rushed her baby to A&E.
Megan then urged other new mums not to doubt themselves too. She has regularly updated fans on Landon’s well-being, revealing how he has struggled with digestion and had been given medication to help him combat painful reflux.
However, on this occasion, Megan said his condition worsened when she was told to stop giving him the treatment. Sharing a photo of Landon asleep in a crib, she wrote at the time: “One thing I’m learning about being a mum, always trust your gut.
“I was told to stop Landon’s omeprazole by his paediatrician. This made me feel really uncomfortable as I begged to get him on it in the first place due to him having terrible reflux from 6 weeks. He finally has got himself to a good place after being on the baby omep for 4 months.”
She went on: “I begged to get more but was told he needs to stop now. Because I was told to stop when I really didn’t want to, I’m now sitting on a baby ward after being in A&E all last night because Landon has got gradually worse throwing up so much it was scary. Screaming in pain and reaching till his face turned red and had now become dehydrated from all the vomiting.
“The paediatrician at the hospital I’m in now is very confused at why he was told to stop taking it and should be on it for at least 6 months. After last night he is being put [straight] back on it and has just had his first dose. He was kept in overnight to be monitored and to have fluids put back into his body. Thankfully Landon’s back to his happy self again. He even woke up with a smile. But we’re now back on the omeprazole journey.”
