Alanna Pow finds it tough to find a man, but not for the reasons you’d expect. The former flight attendant says men won’t settle down with her because they worry about her job
Many people say it’s hard to find a good relationship these days.
After all, people want different things, there are so many different ways to meet someone, and not everyone is desperate to get hitched. But one woman said she struggles to date – just because men can’t get their heads around her job.
Alanna Pow, who boasts a huge following on social media, quit her job as a flight attendant to do something completely different. In a bid to earn more money, the Australian bombshell turned to a “spicy side hustle”, which allowed her to take control of her finances and secure a brighter future.
When she was soaring the skies, Alanna worked hard to save her flight attendant salary by saving her pennies and halting her social life to achieve her dream of buying a home. But, despite her hard work, she still had to face the cruel reality of Australia’s competitive property market.
In 2023, Alanna decided to take a risk and become an adult content creator. Sharing a mix of glamorous and exclusive content with her growing fan base, she found success pretty quickly, and managed to bag her dream property.
The only issue is, her dating life hasn’t been so successful, as men don’t seem keen on staying around when they find out what she does for a living.
When asked if her job has impacted her dating life, Alanna, 21, said: “Definitely. I’m not the type to tell a guy what I do on the first date or up front. I’m not that honest about it, because when guys find out what I do, it just turns into a one-night stand or they just want to hook up.
“We rarely make it to a second date. I’ve struggled with that a lot. I don’t go on many dates, but I do get a lot of DMs from guys – hot ones, too. But, usually, they’re just looking for one round, and then I never hear from them again. It does get a little tiring.”
On the flipside, she admits she sees a lot of other girls on OnlyFans dating, and it “inspires” her. She added: “I’ve seen girls who have husbands that help run their events and stuff, and that’s my goal.
“I keep that in mind because you have to go through, like, a hundred frogs to find a good one. So, even though sometimes I feel like these guys are using me because of my OnlyFans, I know there’s a good one out there for the future.”
Even though the job impacts her love life, it’s boosted her lifestyle in other ways. She now earns five figures monthly, and managed to transform her financial situation practically overnight.
After spending around a year-and-a-half up in the skies, Alanna noticed her bank account was really low, and she had a mortgage from an apartment she bought. Prior to her success, she ended up finding a second job in retail just to try and make ends meet.
In the end, she had to say goodbye to the retail job as it kept clashing with her flying. Even so, she still had a mortgage to pay, which is why she turned to something a little different. At first, Alanna set up the page “secretly”, sending responses with the link of it to people in her DMs.
“It’s turned my world upside down in a good way,” she added. “I never thought I’d be able to say, ‘Oh, maybe I can actually pay my mortgage off in a few years’, instead of it being a 30-year loan, which is insane.
“Like, my mum is still paying off her mortgage, and she’s around 60, and the fact that I could do it sooner is just insane. I’m so grateful. I can travel when I need to – like when I had to go to Turkey.
“I was dying after my nose job and BBL, lying in my hospital bed and I was like ‘I’m not flying economy home’. So, I literally went on my laptop and booked a $6,000 (£3,101.57) business class seat. It was insanely expensive, but worth it. The fact that I could even do that was insane. I feel so lucky.”
