Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright announced that they were expecting a baby in December, and the tight-lipped actress has given a rare insight into her path to motherhood
Michelle Keegan has given a rare glimpse of her baby bump in a new interview about her exciting family news.
The former Coronation Street star revealed that she was expecting her first baby with husband Mark Wright, 38, at the end of December, and has mainly been enjoying her journey into motherhood in private.
Now, though, Michelle, 37, has shown off her baby bump in gorgeous new photos. Some of the shots show the busy Hollywood actress taking a rare moment of relaxation, looking comfortable in a thick knit jumper and loose white trousers. Michelle also showed off her enviable figure in a tight maxi dress, with the fabric cradling her bump as she posed with a cup of tea in the kitchen.
Michelle and Mark got married in 2015, and the star admitted that speculation around their lack of children in the early years of their marriage led to her desire for privacy.
“Around the time we got married, I was open about the fact that I wanted to have a family but then, because we didn’t choose to have children within a certain time, there was lots of speculation,” she told Grazia.
The star added: “I made the decision to not talk publicly about that side of my life. I’m going to be 38 this year and, as I’ve got older, I feel more confident about my boundaries.”
Michelle has spoken about the issue before, reminding others that it’s none of their business whether a couple is trying for a baby or not. As previously reported by the Mirror, she said: “It’s horrible. People don’t know if we’re trying. They don’t know the background of what’s happening. In this day and age, you shouldn’t be asking questions like that. I’m asked purely because I’m a woman. But I’m immune to it now – it’s like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it’s no one else’s business.”
While Michelle is now choosing to speak out a bit more about her family life, TV execs reportedly want her and Mark to reveal even more in a reality TV show about their first time becoming parents, with an insider claiming that proposals for the potential docuseries are being written up at the moment.
“A couple of production companies are writing up propositions to see if they’d let in cameras to follow them becoming parents,” a source recently told The Sun.
“These fly-on-the-wall shows are huge on ITV, as well as streamers like Prime, and there is a huge audience that would love an insight into Michelle and Mark’s world.”
The insider added: “It’s all just in the planning stages and no formal approaches have been made but the offers are close to being finalised.”
