Migrant ‘very pleased’ with Epping decision as locals ‘in shock’
One migrant seen leaving the Bell Hotel in Epping today signalled his happiness with the Court of Appeals decision yesterday.
He said: “I am very happy with the decision.” Locals, however, are dismayed, with Sam Collingwood, 43, who has lived in Epping for 20 years, saying the community is “in a state of shock”.
“It’s terrible for all of us. We don’t need this. We’re so stressed. It’s been a real worry. I don’t know where we go from here. How many more will stay there? What happens now? It’s terrible. Children go back to school next week, what then?”
