From the Dyson Airwrap to Pat McGrath’s celeb-loved foundation – here’s how you can look as glam as Miley did at the 2024 Grammy Awards
Miley Cyrus is the name on everyone’s lips following her appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The ‘Flowers’ singer not only bagged herself two awards – including her first Grammy – but won over fans with her show-stopping performance, and a whopping five outfits.
The 31-year-old performer perfected the mob wife trend with big messy hair and smokey makeup at the glittering awards, rocking safety pin dresses, glamorous catsuits and shimmering ensembles.
Her most searched-for look was without doubt a gold chainmail Maison Margiela dress made of 14,000 safety pins, which left little to the imagination.
She completed the look with a pair of Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela tabi heels and a giant, teased bouffant, which celebrity hairstylist Bob Recine said was inspired by “a punk Raquel Welch from the 70s.”
As excited fans rush to replicate the singer’s style, worldwide searches for ‘safety pin dress’ and ‘naked dress’ exploded. And while you won’t be able to get your hands on the designer gown, we’ve come across some worthy alternatives.
This Starry Eyed Premium embellished fringe chain detail sheer mini dress in gold comes in at £61, down from £135, and is so popular, it’s nearly sold out entirely. However, this slightly more modest but equally as stunning Starlet premium embellished sequin midi dress offers a similar aesthetic, priced at £180.
Accepting one of her awards, Miley wore a black Tom Ford jumpsuit with glitter detailing, similar to this £85 Black Sparkly Halter Neck Jumpsuit at Sosandar, which is slightly less revealing but equally as gorgeous.
She also showed off her figure in a black beaded fringe, lace bustier and pants from Bob Mackie – but you could recreate the Valentine’s-ready look on a budget with this £32 Black Corset Sheer Lace Jumpsuit from PrettyLittleThing. It’s oh-so-Miley.
For her hair, the performer turned to celebrity stylist Bob Recine, who said: “This last year l featured Miley‘s wet look for hair. This year we decided we wanted something dry and bigger, more fuller hair, but sexy and tousled and touchable.”
He used a range of Nexxus products to create her signature, Tina Turner-esque do, and it’s something John Lewis shoppers are keen to replicate. According to John Lewis Sales of the Dyson Airwrap jumped 69 per cent last week, while the Shark Flexstyle was up by 46 per cent, after the singer turned up to the Grammy’s sporting her 1970s-inspired look.
As for her full-face of red-carpet-ready makeup, MUA James Kaliardos wanted Miley to ‘glow like a golden goddess’. Renowned make-up artist, Pat McGrath shared an Instagram post detailing the products used to create Miley’s stunning look, including the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation and Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick – Honey Glaze – and the internet has gone wild for it.
Captioned, ‘MAJESTY MILEY’, the post received over 106,000 likes in a matter of hours with one beauty fan commenting, ‘Her makeup was glowing just perfect!!’ and another adding, ‘She looked breathtaking!”
It’s pretty safe to say that Miley’s approach to the Grammys was ‘go big or go home’ – she came, she saw, she conquered, and took home not one, but two awards in the process. We are definitely going to be channelling our inner Miley this Valentine’s and beyond.
