Welcome to the Mirror’s Daily Digest, where we pull together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Tuesday, we’re featuring everything from Thomas Skinner’s Strictly interview controversy to a Brit dad’s tragic death at his son’s funeral and the latest from Prince Harry’s UK visit.

Former apprentice star Thomas Skinner stormed out of press interviews with the cast of Strictly 2025 earlier this Tuesday – shortly after snatching a reporters phone. Elsewhere, a dad has collapsed and died at the funeral of his own son as the coffin was being carried into the chapel and the Duke of Sussex has revealed a huge personal charity donation.

Following controversy surrounding his upcoming appearance in Strictly Come Dancing, Thomas Skinner has sensationally stormed out of an interview, furiously telling reporters ‘I’m not doing this.’ The Apprentice star was being interviewed by journalists at the BBC’s Elstree Studios when he got up and left the room.

In a first for a Strictly contestant, the former reality star, best known for his social media output these days, grabbed a reporter’s phone as they asked him to stop. It comes just hours after Skinner told his followers on X he “can’t be bought” and “won’t say things just to keep people happy”.

The dad-of-three has drawn strong criticism for Twitter (X) posts saying it is “not far-right” to be “flying your flag and loving your country”, and complaining “it ain’t safe out there any more” in London, saying the city is “hostile” and “tense”. But while Skinner is happy to chat online, it seems he is less keen to converse in real life.

A dad has collapsed and died at the funeral of his own son as his coffin was being carried into chapel. Norman White, 61, from Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, was attending the funeral of his son David Beilicki at St Bede’s Chapel at Teesside Crematorium when he is thought to have suffered a massive heart attack.

The medical emergency reportedly happened as David’s coffin was being carried into the chapel. Norman’s 41-year-old son David was found dead on a relative’s sofa after a long-term battle with addiction. His death was exactly 10 years after the memorial service for his stillborn twin sons.

David’s sister Chantelle said he had been staying clean from drugs and had been making progress with his recovery at the time of his death. She said the series of events that ended with their father’s death were like the scenes of a tragic movie.

As Harry continues his four-day tour of the UK – during which he is expected to meet King Charles – the estranged prince has revealed a huge £1.1million personal donation to charity. The Duke of Sussex arrived in Nottingham this Tuesday to visit the Community Recording Studio just over an after William started an engagement at youth project in South London.

Now it has been revealed that during his visit to highlight the urgent challenges facing young people living in communities affected by violence across the city, Harry made the substantial donation of £1.1million to BBC Children in Need. It is understood to be a personal donation, not from his Archewell Foundation.

Harry said in a statement: “The incredible work being done by grassroots organisations like CRS and Epic Partners is not only inspiring – it’s essential.”

Worst performing NHS hospitals ‘named and shamed’ in league table – check your area

As the government revealed its league table for the worst performing, our health editor pulled together a list of the worst performing NHS trusts in England. Health Secretary Wes Streeting said the move will pinpoint where urgent support is needed and help end the “postcode lottery” of care but experts have warned hospitals serving tougher patches might be wrongly blamed.

The table scores NHS trusts on a range of measures including finances and patient access to care, as well as bringing down waiting times for operations and A&E, and improving ambulance response times. The launch of the quarterly tables was announced in November and top performers will be given greater freedoms and funding.

Mr Streeting said: “We must be honest about the state of the NHS to fix it. Patients and taxpayers have to know how their local NHS services are doing compared to the rest of the country.”

Why Nottingham Forest sacked Nuno: Transfer rows, players he didn’t want and demand not met

Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno Espirito Santo has left Nottingham Forest

The football world reacted with shock as Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked as Nottingham Forest manager yesterday evening, with Ange Postecoglu being announced as his successor a matter of hours later. This Tuesday, our Sport Team have been looking into where it all went wrong for the former Wolves manager.

Rows over transfers and a bitter feud with Evangelos Marinakis’ newly-appointed right-hand man, Edu, proved to be the catalyst for Nuno Espirito Santo’s departure from Nottingham Forest. The manager’s exit comes just two weeks after he shared publicly that the relationship between he and Edu, the club’s newly appointed global head of football, had already broken down

Edu’s arrival, and with it the extended influence of his representative, Kia Joorabchian, over transfers was a key factor in the unrest. Marinakis had leant heavily on so-called ‘super agent’ Jorge Mendes during Forest’s rise in recent years to adapt and evolve his squad, a relationship further enhanced when Nuno arrived as Steve Cooper’s replacement. But the decision to hand the ex-Arsenal sporting director power has seen ties with Mendes largely cut and Nuno’s say on deals greatly diminished.
