Former Saturdays singer Mollie King has shared the heartbreaking news her family has been rocked by a devastating loss as she shared an emotional message with her fans
Mollie King has revealed her family has been rocked by a heartbreaking loss. The former Saturdays singer, who is engaged to sports star Stuart Broad, shared an emotional post on her social media.
She announced the devastating death of her beloved dog Alfie as she emotionally thanked him for being the “best little companion”. Mollie shared a series of adorable photos of her pooch over the years as he was there for huge moments of her life. The mum-of-two wrote: “Goodbye to my little boy, Alfie. Alfie was by my side for almost half my life and I can’t believe he is no longer here. I still remember the day I brought him home and he was tiny enough to fit in my shoe.
“We had so much fun together and he would come with me on so many adventures! Even though he was tiny, he was always there looking out for me, ready to snuggle on the sofa when I needed it with his adorable smile.”
She added: “I feel so incredibly lucky to have had him in my life for so long. Sleep well now my angel boy. Thank you for being the best little companion.”
Mollie was flooded with support from her fans and celebrity pals as Giovanna Fletcher commented: “Nooooooooo!!! Sending so much love! Xxxx.” Rachel Stevens added: “Aww so sorry Molly sending so much love,” while Amanda Holden left a red heart and paw emoji.
Just last month, Mollie admitted to feeling like she was in “survival mode” after welcoming her second child. The couple share daughter Annabella together and welcomed Lilliana, their second baby girl at the end of last year.
Shortly after the birth of their second daughter, Mollie’s former cricketer fiancé headed off to South Africa for work. However, he has since returned to the family home and she gushed about how great it was to have quality time as a four.
“I feel like the first few weeks – it was the same with Annabella – I did find it quite tricky,” the star told MailOnline. “You’re just really in that sort of survival mode of, you’re up all night, you’re feeding constantly, but now I’m at that stage where I’m really able to sort of enjoy it and take the most of each moment.”
Despite struggling, Mollie told the publication that she found the transition from one baby to two much easier than from none to one. She then expressed she ‘knew nothing’ about motherhood when she gave birth to Annabella.
Mollie announced the birth of her second daughter through an adorable black and white image showing four hands – hers, her fiancé’s and their two children.
She wrote in the caption: “Welcome to the world beautiful baby Liliana. We are bursting with happiness! You are the most perfect Christmas gift our little family could have ever wished for.”
Stuart then shared the post on to his Instagram story, alongside the caption: “Happy New Year to you all! The end of 2024 was very special being in our little newborn bubble.”
