Love Island star and influencer Molly-Mae Hague revealed she rushed to hospital after landing in the UK following her trip to Dubai with Tommy Fury over fears she had a blood clot
Influencer Molly-Mae Hague has revealed her terrifying rush to hospital over fears she had a blood clot shortly after returning from her Dubai holiday with Tommy Fury. The former Love Island finalist said she thought she had a clot in her leg.
Molly-Mae opened up in her latest vlog on YouTube, released earlier today. She told fans: “Last night feels like a really weird bad dream and I need to tell you guys about it because I need to share.” She added that she had thought about speaking about it on Instagram but felt “out of her comfort zone” doing so.
She continued: “Basically, I had my first A&E experience last night, guys. It was so so weird.” Molly-Mae shared: “I’ve never been to A&E before, I don’t think.” She said that it proved to be “the weirdest experience”.
Molly-Mae said: “Yesterday, I thought I had a blood clot and half of today I thought I had a blood clot in my leg. Obviously flying home from Dubai I was on the plane for like nearly 8 hours and I didn’t move as much as I probably should have on the plane. Obviously they say on long flights you need to keep your legs moving, keep walking around. […] I didn’t drink like hardly any water.”
She said that she had been in “mum mode” with her daughter Bambi and wasn’t “really thinking”. Molly-Mae added: “I just wasn’t really taking care of myself on the flight. […] Got home from the flight [and] went straight to bed. So very, very, very limited movement the whole day. Literally flight [then] bed.”
The content creator said that the next day she had a hair appointment scheduled. “I was in the chair for about seven hours, again, zero movement,” she explained.
She continued: “When I got up from the chair from having my hair done, I had the most excruciating pain in my leg. […] It was in the back of my knee, so so strong. It didn’t feel like a dead leg, it was like a sharp stabbing pain. I had it for about four hours and nothing would shake it.” She added: “Then it’s moving down into my calf, into my ankle, into my foot.”
Molly-Mae said that she ended up calling NHS 111 and recalling telling the service that her leg was “slightly swollen” and “felt hot” amid the pain. She told fans that after speaking to a doctor she was told to “go straight to A&E”.
She said that she was in A&E for “hours” despite her expecting it to not be busy as it was a Thursday night. Molly-Mae said it was “absolutely packed” though, adding that it was “such a sad environment”. She said that she didn’t want to “waste” anyone’s time but felt she had to take her symptoms “seriously”.
Molly-Mae said she seemed “low risk” in terms of concern compared to other patients waiting in the queue. She said that after waiting four hours and being told she would have to wait another hour for a blood test and then longer to see a doctor about the results, she decided to leave.
She said: “I need to leave, like I can’t stay here any longer.” Molly-Mae added: “I managed to get some sleep and when I woke up this morning […] my leg felt so much better and the pain had kind of gone.”
Molly-Mae said she wondered if the issue had resolved itself but then at lunch time on the day of filming the vlog she had an “awful dizzy spell” where “the room was spinning”. She told viewers that she felt nauseous and was worried she would faint.
