A British woman is spending Christmas Day behind bars in Thailand after a drunken hotel romp went horribly wrong.
The woman has been arrested for damaging hotel property and verbally abusing police. The blonde holidaymaker was caught in the early hours of Christmas Day engaging in a public display of affection with her partner at the Flipper Lodge Hotel in Pattaya.
The couple were reportedly drunk when they began their amorous antics on a sofa before moving to a glass table, which was shattered during their encounter. Hotel staff, who initially mistook the pair for guests, said the woman’s behaviour quickly spiralled out of control.
The Daily Mail reported a staff member who said: “Both of the foreigners were not hotel customers. They were drunk and entered while we were working, and we didn’t notice them because we thought they were our customers, so we didn’t pay attention. After a while, they did something obscene. They started trying to have sex on a glass table, causing it to break along with other property.”
The situation escalated when the woman fled the scene, with a hotel porter chasing her. The confrontation moved to a nearby beach, where the woman reportedly got into a scuffle with an officer. Bystanders had to step in to help the police bring her under control.
Footage of the arrest shows the woman, dressed in a white mini-dress, shouting insults at locals and law enforcement as she was led away in handcuffs. She says in the video: ‘What are you doing, oi, somebody English’ before branding the officer a ‘f****** f** s****** c***’. As more officers arrive to detain her, she says: ‘Record me, England, I’m from England, mister, hey. mister please, keep recording everything, stupid little fat f***** pudgy c***’.
At the police station, Lieutenant General Ittikorn Saikratok confirmed that the woman remained heavily intoxicated and incoherent with no ID on her so she couldn’t be identified. He said: “She [the drunk British woman] hasn’t sobered up yet. She has been making a lot of noise all night but nobody can understand what she is saying. She is yelling and incoherent.”
He added: “’I told her to go to sleep. When she’s sober and can speak more clearly, a translator will come and help with the situation.”
As for the damage to the hotel, staff are planning to press charges. One staff member said: “They must take responsibility for what they did.”
