Singer Maxi Trusso suffered a horror fall when he jumped into the crowd of fans but nobody caught him as he carried on the show backstage while lying on a makeshift bed
Argentine singer Maxi Trusso injures himself after stage dive
A singer dived into a crowd of fans but was left with horror injuries when no-one caught him. Maxi Trusso was performing to a packed concert, yet was left having to pick himself up from the ground.
The 54-year-old dramatically still carried on the with show and was attended to by medical experts while on stage. Maxi, who lived in the UK in the 1990s and worked in the fashion industry, was performing at Buenos Aires nightspot Niceto Club.
The Argentinian singer sat on a makeshift bed behind the stage and still continued to sing to fans through his microphone as he was examined by doctors. Despite the embarrassing and painful stunt, Maxi shared footage of his dramatic fall with his followers.
It showed the moment fans screamed as Maxi sprinted towards them and leapt into the air. The fans were caught off guard and didn’t catch Maxi as he attempted to crowd surf.
He also shared clips of him lying down on a bed back stage, as the crowd carried on clapping for him. Maxi continued to sing and thank fans from his backstage makeshift bed after he hurt himself.
One said: “100% @maxtrusso – The Show Must Continue.” Many in the audience were filming him on their mobile phones and had no hands free to cushion his fall.
His followers began chorusing his name as he was helped to safety. After finishing his concert the best way he could Maxi, whose electro-pop group called Roy Vedas have played as supporting act for Rolling Stones, was taken to hospital for a check-up.
It is not the first time Maxi, whose 1998 hit Fragments of Life appeared on the Top of the Pops chart, made headlines with his antics.
While at a New Year Party in the upmarket Uruguayan resort of Punta del Este, he was filmed falling to the ground as he performed amid reports he had drunk too much champagne.
In the 90s, Maxi moved to England where he started working in the fashion industry as well as music and participating in projects and theater plays with European writers.
He later moved to Italy and formed electro-pop group Roy Vedas. Their hit Fragments of Life reached wide success and British magazine The Face chose it as one of the best three tracks of the decade.
Roy Vedas toured across Europe including in Greece, Denmark and Sweden as well as supporting music icons the Rolling Stones in Turkey.
In his home country of Argentina, Maxi gained recognition as a solo artist. He decided to record a classic rock album with help of Fernando Goín. His first solo work was titled Leave me and cry and published by label Acqua Records.
Maxi became a successful artist thanks to his distinctive voice and his songs, mostly sung in English, which were heavily aired on radio stations and TV all over Latin America.
