One shopper even said: “Bought to travel. So comfortable. Still looked good after an 11 hour flight.”
It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for. Marks and Spencer has finally reopened online orders on its website, which will surely be music to the ears of fashion fans who have been holding out ordering holiday clothes, or don’t live near a store.
The retailer put out a message on social media this morning to say that ‘a selection of our best selling fashion ranges’ would be available for home delivery, with more fashion, home and beauty added throughout the week. Naturally, we raced to see what was available, and came across a £35 dress that’s perfect for summer, with shoppers urging others to ‘definitely pack it for your holidays’.
The Jersey Textured V-Neck Midi Column Dress has been lauded for its textured, seersucker material that ‘won’t crease’ making it ideal for packing in a suitcase or for traveling in. One shopper even said: “Bought to travel. So comfortable. Still looked good after an 11 hour flight.”

Priced at £35, it’s designed in a fitted shape which many have said gives it a ‘flattering’ shape, prompting them to buy it in every colour available. Another five star review read: “I purchased this in the yellow/cream in store. I liked it so much that I ordered the black when I got back online. It’s so flattering. I’m 5ft 10 and a size 12. The chest on the model isn’t how it looks with a bust. It’s so curve enhancing. The other good thing is it’s not too short. No lumps or bumps are shown. Thin material but soft and not see through so great for summer.”
“Lovely dress. Hides all the lumps and bumps. Looks great,” echoed another. The dress is made from jersey material which hugs the figure and creates a ‘breathable’ feel. The fabric is stretchy, making it comfortable to wear all day, with a pretty v-neck and twisted knot detail to add interest.
The dress comes in black and stone, however, the latter does look more like a pale yellow, which some fashion enthusiasts will love seeing as butter yellow is still very much trending. However, one was disappointed that it wasn’t more neutral, commenting: “The stone colour looks pale lemon and did nothing for me being fair. It was see through and a bit meh for the money will be returned.”
Others simply couldn’t choose and ordered both, writing: “Wow. The perfect lightweight dress for all occasions. Dress it up, wear it casual and definitely pack it for your holidays – it won’t crease. I got it in both colours, black and yellow, which has a soft/creamy tone.”
Customers have also hailed the dress as ‘classy’ and noted how versatile it is for any occasion. “Really easy and comfortable to wear and very classy,” one penned. “Because of the fabric this is great to wash and go too. It’s great for sightseeing by day with a sunhat and trainers, or dressed up with gold earrings and sandals by night. A really good find and style. Maybe some more colours/patterns for next season – and if so I will definitely be purchasing them.”
For those still looking for holiday wardrobe inspiration, Michelle Keegan’s new range at Very is a great place to look. Her Very’s Crochet Bandeau Midaxi Dress is £80, comes in a lemon hue and thanks to its crochet fabric, won’t need ironing either. Meanwhile. Roman has cut the prices on a range of gorgeous dresses, ideal for various summer events. This includes the Orange Floral Cowl Neck Midi Dress from the retailer, which has caught the eye of many customers with its ‘beautiful’ fabric and vibrant pattern.
But with M&S back up and running, shoppers will no doubt be rushing to the retailer’s site to see what they’ve been missing out on. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that’s expected to be the case with the high street favourite.
John Lyttle, managing director of fashion, home and beauty, said in a message to customers today: “We are bringing back online shopping this week.
“A selection of our best selling fashion ranges will be available for home delivery in England, Scotland and Wales. More of our fashion, home, and beauty products will be added every day and we will resume deliveries to Northern Ireland and click and collect in the coming weeks. Thank you sincerely for your support and for shopping with us.”
Customers were buzzing for the announcement, racing to the site to place orders. One wrote: “The best news! Logging on right now,” another added: “AMAZING news, have got everything in my basket ready to go,” while a third penned: “Waiting with my basket. We have missed you.”
But if it’s the no-crease, flattering £35 dress shoppers are after, they can shop it here.
