A mum shared how she woke up at 3am one night only to realise there was a mysterious voice talking outside her kids’ bedroom, clearly trying to get inside – but it’s not what it seems
As a parent, all you want to do is to make sure your children are happy, healthy, and safe. This, of course, includes making sure they’re as content as possible during the night when they’re sound asleep. So when you hear a strange and mysterious voice outside their bedroom at 3am as you’re all snoozing, it’d be natural to feel scared and nervous for their safety.
This was the case for one mum, who woke up in the middle of the night as she kept hearing a mysterious voice saying ‘hello’ over and over outside her kids’ bedroom at 3am. The mum, named Jada, started filming the spooky clip as she realised the mysterious voice in question wasn’t as scary as it might have first had appeared.
The camera then turned to show the family’s tuxedo cat was seen knocking on her kids’ door, yelling at them to let him in, emitting sounds similar to a human “hello.” “Not him saying HELLO so the kids can let him in. Sir it’s 3 a.m.,” Jada wrote on top of the video. She then went on to add in the caption of the now viral clip: “He loves his crazy little humans.”
The video continued to show the tuxedo cat ‘knock’ on the closed bedroom door while LED lights were seen shining from inside the room. He also continued to meow out his ‘hello’ sounds, begging the kids inside to let him in.
While most people would assume cats are lonely creatures who like their solitude, it’s actually been proven they love their owners just as much as dogs do. They might just have a different way of showing it.
Cats are naturally territorial animals and like to patrol and survey their surroundings. A closed door can disrupt their ability to do this, leading to frustration and a desire to get through.
And if you’re hiding behind a closed door, they’ll want to get in even more as they want to be around you, as you both are there to protect each other, according to the cat.
Several people recognised the cat’s behaviour as some went on to share their own experiences of having cats wanting doors to be left open.
“My cat will do this at any closed door, and the minute you open it he’ll walk away like ‘cool I just wanted the door open’,” one user shared.
Another person also said: “I’m just convinced that cats hate closed doors!”
“He looked over like “ why are you laughing? This is a serious matter,” another person commented.
A fourth person said: “He’s asking so politely toooo. Let that baby in!”
