Mum shares ‘wild’ life with twins as one habit proves they’re really ‘in sync’

Parenting comes with a lot of responsibilities to juggle and one mum is having to do everything in double after giving birth to twins – with one habit raising eyebrows

A mum has shared the “wild” reality of life with a set of new-born twins, including a surprising habit that had many people feeling “overstimulated”. Life as a new parent can be emotionally, physically and psychologically taxing, with little sleep and an abundance of hormones contributing to how difficult it feels.

Parenting is notoriously difficult and comes with major responsibilities to juggle alongside the previous commitments and goals from your child-free days. Instead of struggling with one baby and tracking their milestones while meeting all the care requirements, one mum is having to contend with two babies – and it’s much harder than many people may have imagined.

Twins often fascinate onlookers, especially if they’re identical, with some people musing about a life with twins and harmlessly hoping to experience it for themselves – but mum Rocio has jokingly urged caution.

In a recent video uploaded to TikTok, she showed her new twins crying together mere seconds apart, so there was no gap at all in the noise. Their cries also sounded identical, with many drawing comparisons to them and an animal.

In the caption accompanying the brief clip, Rocio penned: “Imagine hearing this off of 2 hours of sleep. Twin moms are troopers”.

Over the top of the footage, she added ruefully added text which reads “Aww I want twins”, adding a sobbing emoji, alongside a grinning emoji.

The clip was widely viewed, racking up more than six million likes and 1.5 million shares – with fellow TikTok users keen to share their thoughts in the comments section.

Many people were quick to compare the sound of the twins’ crying to birds and seagulls, with some simply posting pictures or GIFs of birds squawking.

One person said: “The fact they could be crying because they hear each other’s crying”.

Another confessed: “I had to pause it so I could comment in peace!”

A third joked: “if you close your eyes it sounds like you’re at the beach”.

Several others shared how they’d respond in Rocio’s shoes. One person said: “I’d laugh and cry at the same time”.

Another commented: “I’d start crying with them” and another agreed: “I would cry with them”.

Someone else observed: “Their synchronization is wild”.

Another said: “I’m overstimulated already just by this video”.

Another mum – of two sets of twins – shared: “2 sets of twins, 1year and 3yrs. My dog must have PTSD because he is looking around for the babies hahah”.

Another said: “They’re in sync omg bless you and your babies mama congratulations”.

One TikTok user joked: “seagulls or human twins?” And another added: “Maybe I don’t want a baby.”

The NHS states: “Fertility treatments and the fact pregnancies are happening later in life has made multiple births more common.”

It adds: “Nobody knows what causes identical (monozygotic) twins. Everyone has the same chance of having identical twins: about 1 in 250. Identical twins do not run in families.”
