A mum-of-four has shared the way she deals with laundry in her house, and although some have called her “lazy” for her methods, she believes her trick is “genius”
If you’re part of a large family, you’ll understand the struggle of washing, drying and folding your children’s clothes that have been stained throughout the week.
One mum-of-four has devised a time-saving method for sorting her freshly laundered clothes. Despite some labelling her as “lazy”, she insists her trick is “genius”.
Tiffany, from the USA, revealed that she uses four separate laundry baskets for each of her kids, making it easier to sort their clothes straight from the tumble dryer into the right basket. But the real kicker?
Tiffany never folds her laundry. Instead, she simply takes each basket of clothes to the respective child’s room, dumps the clothes into baskets on shelves, and “moves on with her life”.
In a TikTok video posted on her @tiffanyajlee account, she said: “Alright so, I was called lazy for doing this, but I think it’s genius. As you can see, I have bins behind me. Each bin is a different person in my family.
“I don’t fold [the clothes] I just take the items directly out of the dryer and pop them in the bins. Then, I bring it up to their room, put it in more baskets that are in cube shelves – without folding them – and move on with my life.”
The post sparked a divide among commenters, with some unable to stomach the thought of their clothes being “wrinkled” due to improper folding. One individual commented: “The wrinkles and amount of energy and time it takes to fluff them in the dryer is not worth this. I love doing laundry though.”
Another chimed in: “I couldn’t do it, I’m already having nightmares about the wrinkles.” However, others sided with Tiffany, praising her time-saving hack as they described laundry as “overwhelming” and any trick to make it less stressful was hailed as “genius”.
One person confessed: “I don’t even make it that far! Laundry is way overwhelming. I have clothes that I’ve never seen before in my life that just appear out of nowhere.” Another agreed: “Yes!! I don’t fold laundry either, girl! Too many times I’ve watched the kids unfold it all after I’ve folded … Ain’t nobody got time for that! ” “Haters going to hate but this is genius,” a third added.
