‘My husband-to-be’s sister made heartbreaking comments at my wedding dress try on’

A woman couldn’t believe what she was hearing at her wedding dress try on from her sister-in-law to be – and when her husband-to-be took drastic measures, she was shocked

A woman was left devastated after her husband-to-be’s side of the family branded her a “witch,” despite the fact she’d done nothing wrong. She explained her husband-to-be was the “most wonderful guy” and they had an idealistic relationship; her family loves him, and she has only good things to say about him. However, she explained his sister has an issue with her because she’s “on the bigger side”.

The stressed woman shared her fiancé’s sibling has even made comments about how she’s “too ugly and fat for her brother,” saying that he’s “settled” for her, rather than actively wanting to be with her.

So, why hasn’t she confessed to what his sister has been saying to him? She explained that “she’s always been good at hiding her disgust” and she didn’t want to share because she didn’t “want to cause trouble between them” as “he adores his sister”.

But things took a turn for the worse when she was wedding dress shopping with her mum, and future mother and sister-in-law.

She explained that she’d found her dream dress, saying: “My mother and mother-in-law were gushing at how perfect the dress was for me, and my sister-in-law to be was looking at me with what can only be described as disgust.

“Then she went on a long rant about how I would, of course, settle for less because nothing good would actually fit me.”

She detailed everything that was “wrong” with the woman her brother was marrying in her eyes, with her mother-in-law trying to stop her from “crashing out,” but she was being so cruel the bride-to-be had to leave.

She wrote: “Before I even got home my mother had already called my fiancé and told him what happened so understandably he was furious, he sat me down and asked me about it and for the first time in four years I told him everything.

“We ended up spending the rest of the day crying with him, profusely apologising for never noticing, and he promised to fix it.”

But the way he chose to fix it shocked her, as she detailed: “What I didn’t expect was him waking up the next morning and deciding to un-invite his sister to our wedding.

“His exact words were ‘A wedding is a celebration of love between the bride and groom and the people who go, go to celebrate them’. He said that since she clearly cannot be happy for us, she can save both her time and money and just not go, and that was it.

“I didn’t expect it, and when I asked him why he would do that, he told me that yes, he loves his sister, will continue to do so, but he will not compromise my day and my happiness just because his sister is small-minded.

“I had no problem with that, his family, however, have all called me to apologise on her behalf and ask him to reconsider. At first I refused, but now, his mother has called me to tell me that I’m being a selfish witch and I’m already tearing her family apart”.

In the comments, someone questioned: “His mother witnessed sister belittle you at your WEDDING DRESS APPOINTMENT and YOU’RE the witch?? You have nothing to apologise for. She will only do the same at the wedding, if invited.”

Another fumed: “Why isn’t the mother angry at her daughter treating someone like this? If anybody is the witch, it’s her.”

Somebody else wrote: “You’re going to look beautiful on your wedding day, and it’s clear your fiancé sees you as beautiful. That’s all that matters.”

“Tell his mother that the uninvited came directly from your fiancé and you had nothing to do with the it and the only person who can change the uninvite is her son,” a Redditor seethed.
