A surprising perfume is winning praise from shoppers who say it conjures up good memories, lasts well on the skin and gives a luxury aroma for £14
Celebrity fragrance collaborations and own-brand offerings aren’t always a big hit with experts and perfume lovers. Some miss the mark with over-the-top branding and unwearably sweet scents. However, one perfume by an A-lister we’ve all heard of is winning surprising amounts of praise from shoppers who say it delivers a nostalgic, ultra-wearable scent.
Katy Perry’s Killer Queen EDP can be snapped up for an affordable £13.99 on Amazon at the moment, and it’s received thousands of five-star reviews thanks to its scent profile.
Launched in 2013, marking the I Kissed a Girl singer’s 5th fragrance under her brand name, the top notes are forest fruits, plum and bergamot; the middle notes are frangipani and jasmine; and the base notes are praline, patchouli and cashmere. Together, they blend to make a fruity floral scent with creamy hints.
One happy shopper pens their thoughts on Killer Queen EDP: “Love this on my wife, the scent is amazing and lasts a full day. She has had lots of perfume but I will always love this particular scent as memories are triggered. If you want a long-lasting fruity, floral scent then buy this.”
“This perfume has a long-lasting lovely smell. I use it when I go out and it lasts a long time because the scent stays all day. I would recommend it for yourself or as a present. Much cheaper than other places,” writes a second.

A third chimes in with: “Fresh not too overpowering. Love it!” with a fourth noting the nostalgic element of the EDP: “This was one of the first perfumes I used growing up and I still love it to this day. It smells very sweet which I personally love in a perfume. Highly recommend it as it’s so affordable compared to others.”
However, a few reviewers weren’t overly thrilled with the buy, with one noting: “The smell is great however it doesn’t last very long, only about 2-4 hours however it’s expected for a perfume of this price.”
While we’re on the subject of celebrity scents, there’s another perfume from a famous name winning praise from fragrance connoisseurs: ‘Lovely’ by Sarah Jessica Parker . The fragrance opens up with notes of lavender, martini, bergamot, mandarin orange and rosewood. The heart is more traditionally floral with hints of patchouli, orchid and narcissus. Its base is simple yet comforting with notes of musk, woodsy elements, cedar and white amber.
You can snap it up from The Fragrance Shop for £16.
