Myleene Klass colleague shares terror after receiving ‘unhinged’ letters at stalking trial

Radio presenter Katie Breathwick has provided evidence against an alleged stalker who is said to have targeted her and her colleague Myleene Klass

A colleague of Myleene Klass has shared the fear she felt after being targeted by an alleged stalker. Radio presenter Katie Breathwick told jurors she was left terrified by the alleged ordeal, claiming she was posted a DIY will-writing kit, binoculars, perfume and running shoes alongside “unhinged” letters.

Mrs Breathwick told the trial of Peter Windsor, who is also accused of stalking former Hear’Say star Klass, that she informed her Classic FM colleague of his “raving” notes and gifts. She said she felt it was important Klass was made aware of a situation that could potentially put her at risk.

Prosecutors allege that Windsor, 61, stalked both presenters between 2020 and 2024. The Birmingham man is accused of sending Klass an air pistol and fancy dress outfits as well as other “unwanted” gifts.

Birmingham Crown Court heard that Windsor sent a note calling Klass a “naughty vixen”. He is also alleged to have sent Breathwick a letter saying he wanted to go paddling in a lake with both of the presenters while drinking champagne.

Breathwick told jurors on Tuesday that she had received over 100 items from Windsor, saying they had all been sent to Classic FM owner Global’s central London studios. She was providing her evidence from behind a screen in the witness box.

She became audibly upset during the latter parts of her evidence as she went on to tell the court she first received correspondence from Windsor at the start of the Covid pandemic. The alleged stalker has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Speaking at the court, Breathwick said: “The first time I ever really had a prickling instinct that this was a little bit different was March 2020. The first note was something to do with how many push-ups and pull-ups he had done.

“It was weird. It was a note of a personal nature talking about me as if he knew me.”

While answering questions from prosecutor Timothy Sapwell, Breathwick claimed to have been concerned by the parcels at first, saying it “felt unhinged”. She added that it seemed clear that whoever was writing them wasn’t in a good state.

She continued: “Everyone was talking about mental health issues and it was pretty obvious to me that this person was in that situation and that I was the focus of those feelings. It’s deeply, deeply disturbing to know that.”

She later said the handwritten notes were “raving and unstable”, saying it concerned her that Klass was also named in them. “I was aware that it was probably important that she needed to be made aware of this,” she said.

The court has heard Windsor had officially changed his name to Sir Peter Windsor. He is then said to have sent both his alleged victims a note which read it would be “divine to paddle with you both in Buckingham Palace Lake and get you two their brand of £60 bubbly”.

The jury of 10 men and two women listened as Breathwick said: “It really freaked me out.”

During her testimony, Breathwick said she had been told not to tell Klass of the parcels she had received. However, she said she felt she needed to, saying she “felt a duty as as woman to make her aware of a situation that might put her at risk”.

Breathwick rejected suggestions that she had been “catastrophising” when she came under cross-examination by defence barrister Philip Brunt. She explained to the the jury how she saw the parcels as “dirty and malicious”. She explained: “In the context of all of these things, that is not catastrophising, that is being realistic.”

Klass is expected to give evidence on Wednesday and Windsor denies two counts of stalking causing serious alarm or distress. The trial continues.
