The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes married his fiancée Charlotte Burke in a stunning ceremony in North Yorkshire, and the guestlist included one of his famous bandmates
The Wanted Star Nathan Sykes tied the knot with his stunning fiancee at a grand historic venue recently – and revealed afterwards that there was only one bandmate there to witness their big day. The musician, 35, married HR manager Charlotte Burke at St Mary’s Church, Birdsall, in the North Yorkshire countryside on 11 October.
The couple chose to keep it relatively small, with just 61 of their nearest and dearest on the guest list – including Nathan’s The Wanted bandmate Jay McGuinness. Speaking to OK! after the big day, Nathan explained why Siva Kaneswaran and Max George were absent, saying, “We haven’t touched base recently, so I’m not sure they would have known the wedding date. With them being out in America at the time, we’ve not had the chance to [catch up], but I’m sure we will soon.”

He added, “We had a room full of people we’re comfortable with, so it was a really safe space and allowed us to relax.”
The final member of the chart-topping band, Tom Parker, tragically passed away in March 2022 of complications caused by brain cancer, aged just 33. Nathan explained that his thoughts on the day understandably turned to those like Tom who were not able to witness him and Charlotte, 30, exchanging their vows.
“Milestones like weddings always remind you of the people you’ve lost and the impact they had on your life,” he said. “There were people on both sides [of the family] we’d have loved to share the day with, but we feel like how perfectly the day went was their way of celebrating with us.”
Nathan and Charlotte dated for eight years before saying “I Do” at the Grade II-listed Birdsall House, which dates back to the 16th century. Charlotte wore a classic fitted Justin Alexander Mikado dress for the ceremony, followed by a sparkling ballgown-esque dress for the evening do.
Nathan described the occasion as “the most perfect weekend”, and said seeing Charlotte enter the church was the “the most beautiful” sight he’d ever seen.
He also said he struggled to keep his emotions in check while writing his 15-minute wedding speech, and went back to tweak it during the pre-reception drinks.
“I was so proud of it,” he said. “I managed to speak about a lot of people in the room and tried to balance humour with it being touching.
“The most serious part was at the end, when I was talking to Charlotte directly. I guess it’s sometimes easy to forget to share just how much you care about each other.”
They wrapped the night up with a stunning fireworks display, and partied until an impressive 2.30am before retiring to bed to relive the day, Charlotte said. “We just told each other about the day, like the other one wasn’t there.”
