A woman has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a popular Netflix actress, authorities said.
Sara Burack,known for her appearance on Million Dollar Beach House, was hit by a car on Thursday shortly before 3am on Montauk Highway near Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, New York. The 40-year-old was found by police officers “unconscious and with serious injuries”, according to a press release from the Southampton Town Police Department.
She was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital where she sadly later died. The vehicle involved fled the scene, prompting a large-scale search by local and state authorities. Following an extensive manhunt Amanda Kempton, a 32-year-old woman from Virginia, was taken into custody and charged.

Kempton was charged on suspicion of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in which there is a fatality, a class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison, according to New York Post.
Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed details about how Kempton was identified as a suspect.
Public officials have urged anyone with additional information about the incident to contact Southampton Town Police, as the full circumstances surrounding the event are still under investigation, local outlet, Dan’s Papers reported.
Sara had once been part of the high-end property firm Nest Seekers International, which operates in both Manhattan and the Hamptons. Her time with the company included being featured in the Netflix series that followed a team of ambitious young brokers chasing multimillion-dollar listings in the competitive Hamptons market.

Although she left Nest Seekers over a year ago, Burack remained in contact with former colleagues. “Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends,” said Geoff Gifkins, the firm’s Hamptons regional manager. “Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends.”
Before diving into the world of high-end real estate, Sara cut her teeth working in her family’s commercial construction and materials business. Chatting with Hamptons.com, she said: “”I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.”
The Mirror has reached out to the Southampton Town Police Department and the New York State Police for further information but did not receive an immediate response.
