The linen-blend dress comes in black and red, as well as two printed varieties
Floaty clothing is essential for heatwaves, as breathable materials keep wearers cool, plus they can also look effortlessly stylish. Over at Next, a newly released floaty dress has been touted as ‘elegant’ by buyers, thanks to its chic design.
The £49 linen-blend halterneck dress is ankle-length and available in four colours: black, red, a cream option with blue florals, and another cream one with a tropical print. The black and red hues are both available in regular and petite lengths, but the two printed options currently don’t have stock in petite sizes.
The dress is available in sizes 6-26, with availability varying depending on which hue shoppers select. The two plain options (red and black) are currently the most popular, and the model can be seen sporting the pretty frocks with matching flat sandals and gold accessories.

A fashion fan who bought the tropical print version said: “The pattern is beautiful and I felt elegant when I wore it.” However, they had a slight drawback on the material, adding: A little see-through, so I would have liked it to be a little thicker, but well worth the purchase.
Another shopper who bought the same shade said: “Interesting dress, fits well, the quality is great. The fabric is on the heavier side, but it gives a nice, expensive feel.”
Next’s floaty maxi dress

Potential buyers concerned about the comments on the material might want to opt for satin, which is still lightweight for heatwave weather. This green, satin halterneck dress from New Look is £35 – it has an ombre design, a deep back and drop bead detailing.
New Look’s frock is more dressy than Next’s casual option, so it would be a nice choice for shoppers to wear on holiday or to a special event. Elsewhere, Nobody’s Child is another retailer with lots of dress options, including both formal and casual options.
This Green Gingham Tiered Midi Dress is £89, and works well as a work dress and for casual outfits. The sleeves piece has a high neck and sits at the shin. The model pairs it with brown suede sandals.
Back to Next’s floaty maxi dress, the black hue is a popular choice with reviewers. One wrote: “Very easy to wear casually or dress it up for an evening out.”
An additional shopper who chose the blue floral print wasn’t pleased, saying: “Dull pattern, not bright like the picture.” Another ordered the black dress, and concluded: “Very easy to wear casually or dress it up for an evening out.”
