The popular high street store Next has got some gorgeous bohemian style pieces in at the moment, many of which are perfect for the upcoming spring season
Spring is in touching distance and with it comes a whole new wardrobe of soft florals, light weight jackets, and tops that don’t require quite so many layers. We cannot wait, especially seeing as some of our favourite high street stores have launched some gorgeous new collections in anticipation of the upcoming season from Nobody’s Child’s ‘Spirited and Free’ collection and Marks & Spencer to Next. The latter in particular has showcased a gorgeous new bohemian inspired edit that is seriously making us swoon.
From cowboy details to flowery blouses to denim and floaty dresses and waistcoats, Next’s Boho/Western selection is a print and texture lover’s dream.
With options that’ll work both on holiday and in the UK during the springtime and through the summer months into autumn, we thought we’d share just a few of some of our favourite pieces from the impressive edit that really put a spring in our step.

This Ecru Jacquard Boho Long Sleeve Tie Neck Blouse, £40, is a gorgeous option to kick things off with. Coming in a light pinky ecru colour – although it is available in olive, burgundy and more colours – the v-neck blouse is decorated with a jacquard print that gives a lush textured finish.
Complemented by some voluminous blouson sleeves that are fastened at the wrist with elasticated frills – a gorgeous touch – the top is a great choice with wide leg trousers, jeans and skirts. For those that rather a bit more colour, Next’s Orange Fruit Abstract Print Sheer Volume Long Sleeve Blouse, £48, has a real eye-catching print and is fastened with fabric coated buttons down the front.
Its laid back vintage look and ruffle detailing on the sleeves gives it great character, making sure it will standout in any monochromatic ensemble. Alternatively, we would pick out one of the colours in the blouse (there’s a lot to choose from) and accentuate it in your trousers or shoes.
Now, we couldn’t do a Boho haul and not include a long, floaty, maxi dress. The brand’s Ochre Yellow Sleeveless Drop Waist 100% Cotton Crew Neck Midi Dress, £28, is a simple every day option that is great for casual settings paired with some sandals or little cowboy booties and a jacket. Crafted with 100% cotton, the deep yellow sleeveless dress is lightweight and breathable and features an elegant drop waist and gathered skirt.
If you want to dress is up, add some statement jewellery and heels. Available in regular and petite lengths, the dress also comes in black, blue, a tropical print and white.
If florals are more your thing, the Cream Ditsy Floral Print V-Neck Boho Belted Jersey Midi Shirt Dress, £48, may be more suitable. The midi-length cream background dress is made from a lightweight and breathable jersey fabric. Decorated in a ditsy floral print, it features a V-neck collar, long sleeves, pleated waist detailing and a matching belt that cinches in the waist and gives a flattering silhouette. Perfect for a more casual wedding setting or a lovely meal out.
Those who have got their hands on this dress love how it drapes ‘softly’, stating: “Lovely softly draping dress. Very long which makes it ideal to wear with boots. Good quality material.” Although they did note: “Quite a low v neckline.”
Another added: “Fabulous dress, so much so I bought it in both colours. Good length and true to size – had quite a few compliments.”
A warning for future shoppers came from some who suggested sizing down as it was quite a ‘generous’ fit.
To keep you cosy when the chillier temperatures are still keeping us on our toes, the Khaki Green Quilted Floral Pattern Boho Embroidered Gilet is a great layering piece for £35.
Crafted with an artistic floral embroidery detailing which contrasts nicely against the deep green background, the gilet is made from a mix of cotton, recycled polyester and elastane and comes quilted for added warmth. Wear with your favourite wide leg or flared jeans, cowboy boots and a blouse for a simple but effective bohemian look.
Unlike others on the market, like Damson Madder’s Tilly Gilet, this particular item isn’t fastened with ties at the front, meaning you can wear it open.
If khaki isn’t quite your bag, this embroidered knitted vest is a great alternative. Costing £38, the vest is designed with a black embroidered pattern against an ivory background, the vest is fastened with contrasting brown buttons and has a lovely v-neck. While it can be worn over t-shirts, it’s thick enough to be worn on its own during the summer, without the worry of transparency.
To have a close fitted look, it may be wise to size down as one review of the vest has shared: “I really loved the look of this item but it was massive and hung off me even though I ordered the smallest size.” Despite this, another shopper hailed it as a ‘true little gem’ and said: “Lovely addition to any wardrobe. Extremely versatile to wear with, shirts, dresses or simply by itself.”
Every boho style outfit needs some suede detailing, and these Tan Brown Suede Open Toe Studded Clog Mule Sandals, £49, are such a classic for spring, summer and holidays thanks to their bright almost yellow single strap, open toe style and wooden sole. These are also great options if you’re not big fans of heels – such as Clarks’ Sivanne Walk clogs, £80, and New Look’s Black Faux Leather Strap Platform Mules, £32.99.
Meanwhile Mint Velvet’s Brown Studded Suede Shoulder Bag, £150, will keep your essential items safe and sound whilst finishing off your outfit with flair.
With a knotted shoulder strap and exposed seam detail, the 100% leather bag has scattered studs over it, which is an edgy but classy element. While it hasn’t got any reviews, I’d say it may be wise to treat the bag with suede weather protectant to ensure it can withstand any rain-showers.
