Next shoppers are heaping praise on a “gorgeous” dress they’ve been quick to snap up online. The high-street giant, known for its trendy attire and accessories, appears to have introduced a new crowd-pleaser.

The retailer’s Cream Mono Placement Floral Linen Scoop Back Mini Shift Dress is priced at £34. It is available in several different patterns and sizes, as well as regular or petite fit.

The dress features a linen-blend fabric, mini length and a split side hem. It also has a scoop back and side pockets.

Next’s full product description reads: “Made from a lightweight linen-blend that’s ready for summer, this mini-length cream monochrome floral print dress is perfect for everyday wear during warmer weather, featuring a scoop back neck, side pockets and a split side hem.”

The dress has an overall rating of 4.5 stars online, having racked up rave reviews. Among them, one person said: “Gorgeous, lovely fit.” A second wrote: “The dress is quality, well made and very comfortable to wear

A third shopper added: “Lovely, simple but stunning dress I felt slightly oversized so went one size smaller. Could be dressed up or casual. Not too short – came to just above knee on me -5’5.”

A fourth impressed shopper said: “Lovely dress, lovely material. Smart but casual. Perfect for the summer.” A fifth wrote: “Beautiful dress.”

A different shopper commented: “Great fit and perfect for my holidays.” Another said: “It’s a really striking attractive design. It looks so nice on. It is such a change from small flowery prints.”

However, some shoppers found issues with the product. One said: “Liked the dress and the pattern but was too gaping at the back for me, feel Next sizing is all over the place, had to send back.”

Another wrote: “As this item is not lined, it’s completely see-through when worn, even with flesh coloured underwear. Only suitable as a beach coverup but not for every day wear.”

For those looking elsewhere, there’s the Pink Broderie Midi Dress for £69 at River Island. New Look has the Red Gingham Bow Back Midi Dress for £33.99, while Very stocks the Vero Moda Woven Ankle Drop Hem Dress for £44.
