Next has unveiled a new ‘cosy’ cardigan that our team of shopping writers reckons is ‘perfect for Christmas’. With the chilly weather finally here, warm layering pieces and stylish knitwear are wardrobe essentials, and we’ve found a cardigan that ticks all the boxes.

The Boucle Pocket Crew Neck Cardigan With Wool is available in two hues – chocolate brown and red – offering a subtle yet stylish way to embrace the festive season.

Ranging from sizes XS to 2XL, this £38 boucle design cardigan is crafted with wool for extra warmth. Featuring a crew neck and pockets, it’s machine washable and composed of a blend of 59% recycled polyester, 29% acrylic, 9% wool and 3% elastane.

Whether styled with a simple pair of denim jeans or tailored trousers, or layered over a cosy base-layer and teamed with a mini skirt, this is the kind of knit you’ll be reaching for all winter long.

In comparison, Marks and Spencer offers a Cable Knit Cardigan priced at £46 and available in two colours, reports Birmingham Live.

Amazon also has an Oversized Cable Knit Cardigan on sale. Usually priced at £33.99, it’s now down to just £28.99, a saving of 15% and comes in a selection of 15 colours.

Being a new addition, there’s only one review of the Next cardigan so far, and it’s a five-star one. The satisfied customer commented: “Lovely comfortable cardigan. Great colour.”

Next describes the cardigan as follows: “Embrace cosy style in this cardigan.

“The soft, textured knit and chic crew neck make it a perfect layering piece, while the practical pockets add a functional touch.

“Crafted with a wool blend, it’s a stylish and comfortable choice for cooler days.”

Both colourways to choose from are right on trend for this year, with chocolate brown and cherry red dominating the high street, so we reckon this knit won’t be around for much longer.
