Shoppers praised the “lovely” top that’s “perfect for layering but cool and comfortable on its own”
Next customers love a “comfortable and cool” summer top that’s “a bit different from everything else.” Priced at £22, the Pink/Red Gingham Button Down Ruffle Sleeve Top With Linen is described as “the perfect summer top for every wardrobe.”
Next says: “Choose from our wide range of prints and colours (although we’re positive you’ll want them all!) Pair with your favourite denim shorts or jeans for a transitional look – perfect for layering but cool and comfortable on its own on those hot summer days.”
While the top is available in a regular or petite fit, some sizes are currently out of stock. A similar top is available in white for £19, and a multicoloured two-pack is available for £37.

Praising the gingham version, shoppers loved the “flattering fit” and “nice material.” However, someone complained that her bra was visible when she wore the top. It’s also worth noting the top isn’t 100% linen. It’s 70% Livaeco viscose and 30% linen.
Shoppers with more room in their budget might prefer Jigsaw’s £95 Linen Asymmetric Hem Top, which is 100% linen. Alternatively, New Look offers a £19.99 Linen Look Sleeveless Top, made from a blend of linen and viscose, while Nobody’s Child offers a £42 White Linen-blend Swing Top, made from a blend of linen and birla livaeco.
Despite not being 100% linen, Next customers loved the feel of the top. A happy customer commented: “I bought this one as I love the colour. It feels nice and has washed well. Have 3 in same style, different colours.” Another shared: “Very pleased with top. Flattering fit, nice material and true to size.” However, not all of the reviews were complaint-free.
Someone said: “Nice top, sizing could be a little better.” A different shopper added: “I love this top, it’s fits well, it’s comfortable and cool. The only down side is the arm holes are quite low and show my bra. Otherwise it would have been 5*.”
Nonetheless, the majority of the feedback was positive. A fan praised: “Lovely top. A bit different from everything else.” A similar comment read: “Lovely fit and comfortable, nice with just jeans or shorts I bought size 14, I sometimes need a 16 but this fitted really well.”
Someone echoed: “Love the top comfortable wear it all the time great with jeans.” A shopper added: “Brought as a present but they were very pleased with it. Fit and quality very good.”
Unfortunately, some Next customers on Trustpilot were less impressed. While the retailer has an average score of 4.2 out of five and a ‘great’ rating, someone claimed: “One of the parcels I received looked as though it had being sent back by someone, but had not been repacked. Very creased.”
Another wrote: “Have used Next for years and deliveries always came in a timely manner, now you can wait days for the delivery without any clear updates Returns also take a long time to be collected. No options to choose different courier.”
