NFL icon Jason Kelce makes statement with warning to fans

Jason Kelce has taken to social media to warn fans that fake quotes are being attributed to him in relation to Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl LX halftime show

08:46, 15 Oct 2025Updated 08:46, 15 Oct 2025

NFL legend Jason Kelce has issued a stark warning on X after discovering fake quotes about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX performance were being falsely attributed to him. The 37 year old, who seldom posts on his account boasting roughly 750,000 followers, felt compelled to speak out on Tuesday evening.

Multiple social media profiles had credited him with remarks defending the Puerto Rican artist against critics of his upcoming performance.

He was allegedly quoted as saying: “If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people making these comments are a bad fit for America’s future.”

The retired Philadelphia Eagles centre has now publicly set the record straight.

“I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now,” he declared.

“I appreciate @X putting community notes on several and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real.”

Kelce has transitioned into punditry since hanging up his boots last March.

He has also launched a podcast alongside Kansas City Chiefs star and brother Travis, who is engaged to pop sensation Taylor Swift. Just hours after dismissing his alleged remarks about Bad Bunny, the podcast’s Instagram account revealed that Oscar-winning star Keanu Reeves would be their upcoming guest.

In the preview clip, discussion turned to next year’s Super Bowl winner, with Travis predictably backing his squad to deliver the goods.

“I think the Kansas City Chiefs are rolling right now, big guy. That’s all I have to say,” he declared, whilst Reeves applauded enthusiastically and beamed broadly.

The Chiefs were runners-up to the Eagles earlier this year and will consequently be looking to go one step further.

Kelce junior’s team have experienced a patchy beginning to the current campaign with three victories and three losses from six matches.

On a personal note, the tight end has endured a mixed start to the 2025 season, setting a new record but also being fined. During the week five clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he made seven catches for 61 yards which saw him become the Chiefs’ all-time leader in all-purpose yards, overtaking the previous record set by Dante Hall at 12,356.

The 36-year-old was also involved in a controversial uncalled blindside block with the possibility of a hefty fine coming his way. However, the NFL chose not to punish him after already ordering him to pay £11,000 ($14,491) for making an obscene gesture earlier this season.
