Nigel Farage makes the same startling omission in almost all of his Commons speeches

Parliamentary records show Farage has spoken 46 times in the Commons in the past year – less than once a week

Nigel Farage has only mentioned Clacton in Parliament a handful of times since being elected to represent it last July.

The Reform UK leader has uttered the name of his seaside constituency just four times in the Commons.

In the same time, he’s trousered as much £970,000 from side gigs – comfortably the most of any MP.

Parliamentary records show Farage has spoken 46 times in the Commons in the past year – less than once a week.

His deputy Richard Tice has spoken over four times as often, and has mentioned his own patch – Boston and Skegness – at least 25 times.

Locals say Mr Farage has done little in the constituency since being elected except “look for a photo opportunity”.

But he has found time to fly off on nine foreign trips – eight of them to the US, rubbing shoulders with right-wing allies and cashing in on his GB News presenting gig, which pays £330,000 a year.

“Over the last year, Farage has put his speaking tours of the U.S., his GB News show and various side hustles ahead of being the MP for Clacton,” said Jolyon Maugham, Good Law Project executive director.

“It’s not so much Britain First as Farage First.”

Reform UK didn’t respond to requests for comment.
