It can take just five minutes to have your homemade supply of Grimace Shakes following Ninja’s easy recipe
McDonald’s introduced the Grimace Shake to the UK menu for a limited time. It was so popular stores were selling out of the viral milkshake within a matter of days
The shake triumphantly returned to the festive menu this December, but fans know it’s only a matter of time before it’s gone again. For those wanting to get the Grimace fix whenever they want, kitchen appliance giant Ninja has a creative solution.
Experts have come up with the perfect recipe to try at home using the Ninja CREAMi. The frozen dessert maker can whip up ice creams, sorbets, gelatos and thick milkshakes.

If you want to recreate the recipe, you’ll need just three ingredients – 225g of vanilla ice cream, 120g of milk and 70g of fresh blueberries.
Place ice cream in an empty CREAMi Pint and then use a spoon to create a 1 ½-inch wide hole that reaches the bottom of the pint. Then, add the remaining ingredients, and you’ll be ready to go to the fun part.
Place the pint in the outer bowl, install the Creamerizer Paddle onto the outer bowl lid, and lock the lid assembly on the outer bowl. Put the bowl assembly on the motor base, twist the handle right to raise the platform, and lock it in place.
Then select the MILKSHAKE setting. When complete, remove the milkshake from the pint, serve immediately and enjoy!
The Ninja CREAMi has been viral on social media platforms like TikTok for some time now, with dozens sharing their unique creations. The device has racked up a 4.6 rating on Ninja, making it a huge hit with shoppers and comes with glowing ratings.
One said: “Love it, bought for daughter – she has been making all sorts of desserts, little bit noisy but one takes two minutes to mix extra free pots are a bonus. Can freeze different varieties all ready and waiting, easy to clean.”
Another added: “I love this machine, so easy to use and make lovely healthy treats.” A third said: “I just love the fact I can make my own ice cream with fresh ingredients and way less preservatives and calories. The taste is unbelievably good!”
But, some were not impressed. One claimed: “Why does it have to be very loud sounds when you use it? It keeps getting louder which so scary!”
Someone else warned: “No good if using non-dairy products; it comes out like a slush puppy and no matter how many times you respin. I had high expectations, but unfortunately – using dairy-free products simply does not have the same consistency as using normal dairy.”
You can grab a Ninja CREAMi direct from the supplier for £169.99. This is down from it’s usual £200 price point.
For those looking at alternative brands, Amazon has slashed the price of the Cuisinart Ice Cream and Dessert Maker from £140 to £109, saving you 20% on the normal price. Also, for something more budget-friendly, Debenhams has the VonShef Ice Cream Maker with Large Removable Inner Bowl for £39.99.
