The world’s most famous astrologer and philosopher Nostradamus published a famous prophecies book five centuries ago made some unsettling predictions for 2025
Nostradamus has long been credited with foreseeing significant future events – but what did he predict for 2025?
The world’s most famous astrologer and philosopher made some damning predictions about the future before his death in 1566. His book, Les Propheties, was published in the 16th century and his supporters believe he predicted a number of huge global events, including the Great Fire of London and the rise of Adolf Hitler.
More recently, it is claimed he foresaw the Covid pandemic, cost of living crisis and Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Though, cynics say his words could be interpreted to mean anything. Whether you’re a believer or simply curious, it’s interesting to hear what Nostradamus predicted for the year ahead. Here, the Mirror takes a look…
The prophet, real name Michel de Nostredame, made 942 predictions for the future using the alignment of the stars. According to expert interpretations from his book, he chillingly predicted a year of catastrophe and war in 2025. The French philosopher warned that ‘those from the lands of Europe’ would become embroiled in ‘cruel wars’ at some point.
Troublingly, he added that the UK would be involved, while he also pointed out that: “The ancient plague will be worse than enemies.” Nostradamus also believed that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine may come to an end due to the ‘exhaustion’ of both armies. He also predicted that Brazil would be rocked by volcanic activity and deadly flooding.
It’s not just the famous astrologer who expected bad news for 2025 – Baba Vanga, a Bulgarian mystic and healer who died in 1996, also did. The mystical pair may have been separated by several centuries, but they coincided in their views for the year, both believing that anarchy is going to erupt at some point and Europe will be at the epicentre.
The blind mystic, who foresaw her own death six years before she passed away, predicted a global apocalypse in 2025. One of the events she described was a conflict that would erupt in mainland Europe. She believed a new war would break out in 2025 between two countries, but the ramifications would ripple across the world.
Baba also predicted a visit from aliens in 2025 and saw telepathy perfected. In recent years, many of her predictions have seemingly proved true. She is said to have predicted 9/11 as well as Brexit. In 2023, she chillingly foresaw the solar storm that happened on December 1. And she claimed the world would “face an economic crisis” in 2024, which the UK did.
However, many people take Baba’s warnings with a heavy dose of cynicism. On X, formerly Twitter, one user claimed: “She didn’t even say that the end would begin in 2025, according to her words the end of humanity would come in the year 5,000 (if she were a true prophet).” But another disagreed, calling her a “true mystic” who “never said years in her predictions”.
