Oasis fans cautioned against ticket scams targeting supporters in new study

By staff22 June 2025No Comments5 Mins Read

As the Oasis Live ’25 tour fast approaches, many fans will be looking to secure tickets to see the band live – however, not all online ticket sellers are legitimate.

Oasis fans still on the hunt for tickets to the band’s Oasis Live ’25 gigs may be tempted by the myriad of second-hand ticket offers online. However, not all these offers are genuine.

StubHub, a resale ticket seller, has conducted research into the risk of being duped by counterfeit tickets for the upcoming Oasis concerts. The findings, at the time of writing, are stark to say the least.

According to the data, Leeds fans are the most likely to be duped by online scammers. Coming in second is Londoners as the most likely group to fall prey to online fraudsters.

Generation Z is expected to bear the brunt of the scams, however. This is due to the fact they make up the largest demographic likely to attend the concerts.

StubHub’s research claims nearly a third (32 per cent) of UK music fans resort to seeking last-minute gig tickets on social media, and almost two in five (38 per cent) could be lured by fake ticket adverts on these platforms, reports the Express. What’s more, almost half of Generation Z (47 per cent) confessed to having been previously scammed by fraudsters on social media.

As a result, StubHub are urging fans to purchase resale tickets from either official sellers or reputable resale websites. This no doubt includes StubHub, viagogo or Vivid Seats – to name a few.

Below, we have collected some of the biggest resale markets fans can peruse to get their resale tickets right now by using these websites.

viagogo and resale tickets

Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.

How to buy Oasis tickets now

Oasis tickets can currently be purchased through several online resale retailers. This includes the aforementioned viagogo, StubHub, and Vivid Seats.

Music enthusiasts now have a new way to snap up the best seats for upcoming gigs, all thanks to fan-to-fan ticket exchange websites. Although these sites are not official ticketing partners, they offer a platform for die-hard fans to buy and sell tickets at will.

However, Twickets, the official resale site, currently shows no available tickets. Meanwhile, Viagogo’s listings are brimming, showcasing hundreds of tickets ready for purchase for those eager concert-goers.

Here’s the essential links gig-lovers will need:

Of course, Ticketmaster is also an option. At the time of writing, very few tickets are available through their official resale portal.

These tickets are being sold for upwards of £513 each. And most shows are being advertised as either “low availability” or “limited availability”.

For those hunting the premium experience, Seat Unique is offering more than just entry to the hottest events right now, from VIP to hospitality packages. By diving into this website’s bountiful selection, music lovers can look forward to perks such as complimentary refreshments, early venue access, afterparty invites, and other exciting bonuses.

In light of the booming live music scene, Bob Kupbens, CEO of StubHub International, has spoken out about the darker side effect of this resurgence: “We’re set for an outstanding line-up of live music this summer, but we know that a dangerous shadow trend comes with that: the rise of fake tickets on social media.”

He warned against the flurry of counterfeit tickets flooding platforms unchecked: “Intense fan excitement and dedication unfortunately create fertile ground for scammers who use exploitative methods to sell fraudulent tickets in places without the required consumer protections.”

Kupbens reassured fans seeking last-minute tickets, pointing them towards legitimate options: “If you’re looking for a last minute gig ticket this summer, there are safe and secure spaces where you can buy with confidence. Regulated resale platforms like StubHub UK exist for this reason – to keep you protected from fraud when buying resale tickets, with money-back guarantees in case anything goes wrong.
